Finished otter head. The suit is just about done, it's a shame the client is on the west coast, it would be so rad to see it live at a con! Oh well, maybe next con season!

Yay! Another Sea Ott!!
That is really really awesome. A shame I will prolly never get to see it in person since I am on the east coast.
But I know whomever got it will love it, It looks really amazing!

He's REALLY cute lookin! He was a challenge since otters have such unique faces? I was building off of the skull shape and was like NO ITS ALL WRONG WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING IT LOOKS LIKE A CAT WHAT IS HAPPENING, fortunately some other fursuit maker friends helped me figure it out <3 and he turned out great! :D
Otter faces are short, thick muzzles, a bit of an elongated head and a low brow. The three main things people get wrong are: 1. The muzzle is too long and dog like, 2. The ears are too high on the head, and 3. the ears are too big.
You nailed one and two very well. The ears may be a TAD big for my personal taste, but with the way that the rest of the head looks, it actually works out, it looks really really good. They don't look out of proportion or anything like that. Its hard (impossible?) to translate how real ott ears work to an anthropomorphic ott.
Oh yeah, and the nose, a lot of people get that wrong.. That is SUPER tricky, but you nailed that too! :)

OMG that reminds me of this Halloween. I went to a little local Halloween Fair with Lazer Hyena here on FA and his GF Tanzi. Lazer had his partial Lazer suit and I wore my old partial Seaweed and wore my overalls, red shirt and red hat and went as Seaweed Mario.
I was called a bear like 20 FREAKING TIMES. I think MAYBE 1 person got it right? I was called a dog too, lol.
