Unless Oken remakes the skins for that body, it won't. he already stated it'll use a custom skin UVs so SL's skins won't work.

There are SO MANY beefy bodies out there already on the market. Slim and fit is what we need to see. I'm sure you'll be able to find someone who could match the skin to some other beefcake body.

Though personally (that's not meant to be critique), I'd love to see some species which hasn't been supported that much so far. Like bears.
You can see a certain pattern of species on the market appearing over and over again.

bears are very plain avatar, one single color all over the body. That's the kind of thing that just doesn't look good on SL and that's the reason you see more avatars with special patterns

Luskwood once said "We won't do bears because they don't sell".

I just see every decent avatar creator (and I consider you one of my favourite in SL) hand out another husky, fox, wolf etc. when there are so many people with more "exotic" species have no chance to mod their Fursona.

Let's take dragons on the market for example: You either have the option between beefy and evil looking, or absolutely cute or cartoony looking ones. There are no decent "casual" looking dragons on the market.

Again, this is no criticism. You're doing a great job on all of your avatars and I love to mod them!

It depends on the species, really. You could do a spectacled bear, a sun bear, or a even giant panda. There are certainly possibilities for a flashier ursine avatar.

Psicorps just released one and it looks pretty decent. But I agree with Oken's comment below, it's hard to make good avatars with how plain they are.

Awesome looking avatar as always. But with it being full mesh finding cloths that fits well is going to be very very hard unless it uses some of the "standard" sizing the same with hair oh well will get one or more as always and i will be sure to find some awesome clothing for it as well :)

I'm going to offer this bit of advice though; do not forget to include a skin for the default SL body mesh. Full body mesh is incredibly hard to work with, as people try to put clothes on them and mesh doesn't always work. Tokushi tried this, Vivid has tried this and various other avatar makers have attempted the full mesh body and each time it has failed.

Include a 'dummy' rig for people to work with. (like a blender file with the body, I think it is?) Utilizator offers one and that's why people like that body so much, cause they can make objects fit directly to that body. Uh... let's seee... OH. Your actual picture (at the time of this comment) only shows the digitigrade legs. I'd like to see the Plantigrade.

Overall, it's an awesome idea and concept, but I worry how it will affect your sales. If it can be easily modded, I'll probably be using the body for many of my avatars and hopefully make skins for it that can be used with the Venus head. (there is just not any GOOD looking slim bodies for males out there that are really skinny.)

Hopefully, Oken will take the time to look into making this as customization as the Kemono so it can be replaced. (that thing is so damn ugly, ugh.) But I feel you with full mesh. It usually doesn't work well and causes a lot of issues for people who want to be 'unique,' but I suggested he offer a skin for the actual SL body too.

Will this avatar be using the same UVs as the regular SL body, and if not, will there be shading textures included in the development kit?

I'm sorry it doesn't use SL UVs but special ones, we'll look into including a sharing texture

Will you be offering demos of ALL the bodies when this comes out? I imagine you'll be asking L$1K+ for these and I don't want to plunk that kind of money down for something that I can't wear my clothes with.

And from this av to future ones are the bodies going to be the same from neck to knee (or somewhere around there( so we don't have to worry about the fit each time?

Awesome! Oh, Oken, did you see Project Bento? Have you looked into it? It'd be really awesome to see you make an animation with a fully 'boned' tail!

Three comments fit here, thank you, Oken:

1) The picture, despite the description, does not show the plantigrade option, only the digitigrade one.

2) As a suggestion, though undoubtedly difficult, a well-defined and highly granular (lots of little sections) alpha system to allow for modders to add in things such as add-on fitted mesh breasts, etc., on the female. This would also make wearing fitted mesh and rigged mesh clothing far easier, and the high level of granularity would allow for excellent fine control over what gets hidden, this allowing the avatar's clothing use to be highly versatile.

3) With the developer's kit, might I recommend, in line with my comment No. 2 above, that there be a texture meant to be used with the various breast types out there. Such would again increase the wide-spread use of said avatar markedly.

2) yes, the body can be hidden by section, a script will be privided for clothes maker to do it automatically when clothes are worn
3) That would mean making custom textures especially for third party items, that'd be complicated.

On the third point, from experience, usually this means only two particular textures, though yes, by the very definition, this means extra work. The specific textures being, in this case, essentially the upper body of the SL avatar, upper left quadrant, and another one, said same, merely cropped to only that area. Aside from this, I am VERY glad to hear about the alpha masking control. Thank you!

This is nice and all but seriously, you said you'd be updating the wolf over 2 years ago.
It is a little frustrating when I keep seeing new DSD avatars released and the older ones neglected.
Nice work as always...please show some love to older customers too.

PS. I certainly don't mind repurchasing a new one and I'm sure not many others would either.

Hi hi, sorry, making avatars takes very very long and there is a difference between what I'd like to do and what I can do

Updates are hard to do simply because from the maker's standpoint, they don't bring in a lot of sales. But I would like to see the updated wolf as well, KZK's is very outdated as well and it's HUD alone is heavy in script time.

I don't think it's about sales in Oken's case. He pretty much just said he doesn't want to because he doesn't want to. Which is fine - I guess - but I'd rather him not have said anything about updating it years ago if that was the case. The only reason he updated the wolf all those years ago was because he hated how it looked and was surprised people still bought it. Audio Gottfried helped out with it a bit and I was good friends with him back then so that's where I'm pulling that from.
KZK.......yeeeeeah. Don't even get me started. He wont even remove invisi-prims and add an alpha layer to the husky which would take him like a whole 2 hours to do being super leisurely about it.
I can't force an artist to do anything and wont try though I might request it here and there. It's just irritating as hell at times because I see all the nice new avatars with their nice HUDs and functionality and I'm stuck in 4 year old stuff simply because no one makes what I'm looking for in an avatar. The Raawr Wolf is great but far to cute for me and no mater what I do to it, I can't seem to make it less adorable. Not that I don't love adorable stuff, it's just not a representation of me personally. I'm not an avatar collector. I just want a good, solid avatar that's the best representation of who I am. The DSD Wolf is as close as I can get to that and it's in great need of an update. I really hope he decides to fix it at some point but I'm not going to hold my breath. : /

I'm curious if you and Flower are considering holding back the release to take advantage of the new skeleton that will be released with Project Bento.

Hi hi! Nope! the only thing not bento-compliant is the jaw and we can update later easily if needed ( but i don't think it will be needed )

As Oken says, to make these avis compliant it's a quick fix (about 30 minutes in blender) and there will be a small update from us once Bento reaches the public viewer if this is needed. What you receive out of the initial box shouldn't stop working because LL is not going to 'nerf' content already uploaded - they just block certain 'workarounds' in the future.

What we will do, is change our methods of creation for future avis to bring you best avatars we possibly can with the new methods available to us.

I want it! It's a shame it's not out already.
