So yeah. this happened.
ugh i have so much to say about this. but first off, there are soooo many mistakes in the posing and lighting, please ignore them.
otherwise, i guess i'm very pleased with this, I'm finally getting somewhere with my regular art, finally it's looking halfway decent and consistent. whew. I'm getting much better at shading, lighting is okay. def need to work on poses, but gawd i do need to improve shading fur/hair. (if you can give me tips or link me some good tutorials i'll be forever in your debt, thank). however i do need to point out that no matter how many mistakes i did in this it all came naturally. I reckon i've been neglecting my style a lot this year. it usually has a more anime-y look i guess ?? (with thin lines) not too toony, but not too realistic, and i finally can pull it off it properly with a mouse with these new brush settings.
Colouring is okay, need to improve here and there. but i think things are finally looking pretty solid.
and lastly this piece represents my thoughts on animals, especially those we call "pets"
tbh i don't like calling them that, because i've owned my cats for well over 6-7 years and they mean so much more than what they appear be. I love them so much, they are friends or companions rather than "pets", which doesn't mean they have human-like thoughts or whatever, but bonding and friendship also exists in the animal kingdom so I think they deserve more than being just 'pets'.
