A story that was commissioned by me for justanotherken, about my Fursona, Angela, and his cute octo-squish Bindy. Hope you like!
The day had been perfect. Though...not according to the weather. The waves were rough and a
storm was rolling in.
She could definitely take the time to get some waves in before the storm came. It wasn’t due for
at least four hours, and the beach was only ten minutes from her home. Loading up her boogy
board upon her bike, she pedals down the back pathway to head towards the beach. Feeling
the stronger breezes blow over her face, she smells the salty sea air already and grins. She
enjoyed this part of the day, no work, no plans...she was perfectly free. Pulling up on the end of
the pathway, she dismounts the bike and locks it in the bike grid area, taking her board and
walking through the little gate to get to the sand. The feline stood at five feet, five inches tall, her
reddishbrown
fur fluffing out slightly in the breeze as she purrs with delight.
The beach wasn’t closed, but notices were posted about high waves and such. They didn’t look
so bad from the shore, so here she went!
Once her towel and things were all set up on the beach, she hums to herself as she adjusts the
shoulder strap of her purple bikini before entering the water. It was slightly chilly, but still a bit
more warm than the other coast. Putting the board beneath herself, she begins to paddle
against the waves and heads out from the shore. At first, the waves didn’t seem so bad, but the
further she got from the shore, the more they seemed to lift her up and toss her around. Did this
scare the girl? No! Angela was thrilled!
It wouldn’t be too long before she came upon the sand bar, where some of the coral had built up
to somewhat stick out of the water. The waves were crashing over the coral and slamming spray
everywhere. Waiting for a much bigger wave, she tries to remain on top of the board. As far as
she knew, there were no predators in the water so she was safe enough here.
Though unaware, there would be something down below...swimming around with a slight jet of
water coming out of the siphon on the side of its head, tentacles waving around as it looks up at
the boarder, rather curious and slowly coming in for a closer look. Though not too close.
At last...the big one came!
Getting up on her knees to try and get ready for it, Angela would be unable to tame the wave as
it comes crashing over her, causing her to not only fall off of the board, but come slamming into
the coral. Stinging pain searing up her right leg would reveal that, from her ankle to her knee,
there was a very large gash. Blood staining the water, the pain made it harder for her to kick
free before another wave sends her under, sputtering and struggling to get up and breathe.
From below, the eyes of the curious creature would go wide, before the body jets forth to spring
into action. Taking her within two of its tentacles, she would soon be lifted enough for her head
to be above the water, feeling her body shake as she coughs up the sea water. Keeping a tight
grip, it begins to look around for a safe haven for this creature that was obviously hurt and in
peril. Being so far from shore, she might not make it back before losing too much blood.
For Angela...the pain was overwhelming, and with the water from the waves slamming into her,
she would quickly pass out, going limp within the tentacles holding her.
The creature, fearing for the life of the poor feline, soon spies what looks to be a cave among a
large formation of coral, looking to the passed out
feline and bringing a tentacle to cover her
mouth and nose before quickly diving down to the only entrance it could see. Bubbles slightly
came from the top, so it could be seen that air was trapped inside, perfect for the feline to
breathe. It knew that the feline wouldn’t be able to stay like this long, jetting as fast as it could to
get inside and lift the feline up the slight incline inside, letting her rest on a smoother area with
her head above water.
After several moments of shallow breathing, Angela would cough as she begins to awaken. The
rest of the water would be out of her lungs, and she croaks out a groan and wince as she looks
around, then down to her hurt leg. There seemed to be “lights” inside of the cave, a glow coming
from each and every crevice within and outside of the water, giving a bit of a blueish glow to
everything around her. There seemed to be a slimy piece of seaweed on her hurt leg...but it was
moving...and she could feel something puckering against her skin. The large, bulbous head
would slowly begin to emerge, eyes that seemed to be sincerely concerned looking at her and
seeing that she was awake. Letting out a cry, she tries to scramble back from it, only to find the
grip slimy...but firm. This thing was going to eat her!
The creature seemed to sense her fear, slowly letting her go after it saw the extent of the gash
along her leg. Dipping down into the water, it would seem to disappear from view.
“Is...it gone? How did I get here…?” *Rubbing her throat, she backs out a bit more from the
water, but her bottom half would still remain submerged.
Some minutes passed before the creature sneaks its way back into the cave, slowly coming
upon her and reaching up with four tentacles. It didn’t want to do this...but the feline needed to
stay still so the treatment could be applied.
Letting out a scream as her wrists, then ankles, begin to get wrapped, Angela tries to fight but
the tentacles hold fast, making it hard for her to move. “AAAAAH!” Closing her eyes tightly...she
waits for some kind of mouth to crunch on her. If this was the end…
But she blinks as she feels something more firm, not suckery being wrapped around her right
leg. Opening one eye to look, she sees two of the free tentacles wrapping some seaweed
around it. What...it was tending to her? Staring in disbelief, she goes perfectly still, watching with
both fear and amazement.
The creature was able to keep her still, and after four large pieces, manages to get the wound
completely covered and tying it off to keep it nice and secure. Slowly letting the feline down to
sit once more, it seems to...smile? If it could be called smiling.
Once she is let go of, she looks to her leg and slowly moves it as far as she can, letting the pain
tell her when to stop. Looking to the creature, she blinks, before clearing her throat.
“Um...tthank
you?” It seemed appropriate to say to a creature that exhibited such behavior.
The creature, seemingly delighted with the thanks, comes forward and strokes one tentacle
along the leg before giving a bit of a wave with said appendage.
Lifting up a hand, Angela slowly waves back in turn, looking the creature over from what she
could see.
The octopus would make itself known, coming up further out of the water for the feline to
investigate to her heart’s content. Blinking its eyes, it reaches out a tentacle towards her left
hand, gently wrapping around it.
Angela was still as she watches the octopus come into full view, staring in disbelief before
feeling the hold on her hand. Without thinking, she gives it a bit of a welcoming shake. “Hi...nice
to meet you, I suppose. I’m Angela.” A onesided
conversation, but since she seemed to be in
no immediate danger, why the hell not?
Delighted that Angela had shaken “hands” and introduced herself, it lets out a sort of squishing
gurgle from the siphon, soon to come closer and use the held tentacle to bring Angela closer,
coming into a rather...squishy hug.
“Ack!” The pulling definitely took her by surprise, and at first her struggles were rather hard to
get away. But as the hold from the first, then another, came to be gentle and embracing, she
lets herself sink into it a bit and strokes a hand over the body. “Certainly a friendly one, aren’t
you?” A bit of a purr to her words, no longer feeling danger.
The octopus gives another squish, then another, soon bringing up another one to stroke along
her tail, then another to stroke the back of her head.
Letting out a bit of a giggle, Angela lets the creature comfort her, even as odd of a situation as
this was.
A sudden boom would sound, making Angela jump and look around. “What was that…?” Then
another, the sound of the water churning outside of the cave soon leading her to realize that the
storm had come. “Oh man. If you hadn’t saved me when you did, I’d still be out there. I’ll have to
wait this out until the storm passes. At least I have some company and a safe place to be.”
Looking to the octopus she blinks, and feels a trembling as she is still held, but most of the body
had disappeared beneath the water. Surprised by this, she reaches out a hand to touch the
head, right between the eyes. “You’re scared? Oh, you poor thing. It’s okay, we’re safe in here,
no matter how bad it gets out there.”
The octopus would slowly bring the part of its head with the eyes up just out of the water, a
worried look in the eyes as it gives her a bit of a squeeze, though not too hard.
“There there, it’s okay. We’re fine.” Seeing something shining in the water she tilts her head,
reaching down to pick up the end of one tentacle where the shining object was attached. It was
round, having a serial number on it over the word “B1NDY”. Tilting her head curiously, she looks
to the octopus directly. “Your name is Bindy?”
The octopus seems to give a nod, taking the tentacle with the tag and bringing it to herself and
pointing to herself with it.
Smiling, Angela strokes her head again and nods. “Okay then, really nice to meet you Bindy. I
take it you’re a girl then.”
Bindy answers this with a flutter of her eyes, causing Angela to giggle a bit.
Another loud boom from the surface would have her jumping, feeling Bindy do the same and
coming to hold her as much as she could reach, giving a soft hum from a lullaby her mother
used to sing to her, trying to help calm her down.
Bindy was trembling still, but as the sound of the humming comes she begins to go a bit still,
becoming soothed some by the melody and looking up at Angela.
Looking down at her in turn, Angela smiles and purrs as she settles waistdeep
into the water
with her and begins to hum once more. It was rather nice having a captive audience. Even as
the storm boomed over them, she seemed to keep the both of them calm with the melody.
With the storm raging on, it would be that the two, thanks to the lullaby, would be lulled into
sleep, Angela being snuggled into Bindy’s soft body while being held up above the water on the
body.
It wouldn’t be until about an hour after the storm had passed before Bindy would be the first to
wake, blinking sleepy eyes and looking to Angela, who was still passed out on her body, having
sunken in a bit. Bringing a tentacle up to her head, she strokes her hair and ears, eliciting a purr
and a bit of a groan from her. There was no more booming, so now there was nothing to be
scared of.
Feeling the stroking, she didn’t want to get up at first, but as her mind begins to process that she
was in the water against Bindy, she begins to sit up and yawn, looking down to her and smiling.
“Have a nice nap?”
Bindy gives a squish and smiles, pointing to the water and tugging her away from the more
shallow part of the cave.
“Whoa, hey...where are we going?” Angela didn’t know her intentions, tilting her head some as
she tries to stand up.
Bindy brings her to an area above the hole a few feet below them, pointing with one tentacle in
the water.
“Oh, I see the light now. The storm must be over. We should get out of here. My fur will take
forever to fully dry out” Giving a bit of a chuckle, she strokes one of the tentacles around her.
Taking a deep breath, she moves to dive under, only to be helped by Bindy as the octopus
begins to pull her under. Instead of fighting, she lets her guide the way out of the large hole.
Bindy would make sure to keep her close, not bumping her against the somewhat jagged hole
as they exit the cave and come out into the open. Knowing that Angela couldn’t hold her breath
for long, she jets up towards the surface, making sure that Angela was held up to breathe.
Thankfully she was better prepared, and with Bindy getting her out so quickly, she was definitely
grateful to have made such a friend. Looking to her as they bob at the more gentle waves of the
water’s surface, she smiles and strokes her between the eyes. “Thanks. I should be getting
home now, can you help me back to shore?”
Bindy gives a nod, though seems a little bit sad at seeing her friend go. It was certainly going to
be lonely once Angela is gone. Smoothly cutting through the water to head for the shore, she
pets Angela’s hair along the way and gurgles a bit.
Once they reach the shore, Angela would be able to set her feet down in the shallow part of the
water, standing waist deep and looking as Bindy slowly lets her go. Turning, she sees what
looks to be sadness in the octopus’ eyes and frowns, reaching out to touch her. “This isn’t
goodbye you know, I don’t live far from here. If you’re still around, I’ll definitely be back to see
you.”
Bindy stares at her, seemingly bouncing in the water with excitement as she comes and wraps
all tentacles around Angela and hugs her close, giving a rather loving cuddle.
Giggling, Angela hugs Bindy in turn, letting it continue until Bindy finally lets her go. “The pain is
gone, but I have to get this cleaned and wrapped up properly. I promise, I will be back soon.
Okay?”
Bindy didn’t want to let go, but once she does she gives a nod to Angela, giving a wave and
following her to make sure she makes it out of the water safely.
Once she is on dry land, she shakes out her fur and shivers a bit with a breeze blowing over
her, her fur fluffing out a bit. She definitely needed a shower and proper care to her wound.
Turning to see Bindy in the water, watching her, she raises a hand and waves. “I’ll be back! Real soon.” After calling out the promise, she gathers what things of hers she can find on the
beach, heading off with a bit of a limp to the bike grid to pack up, and bring herself home.
Bindy waves in return, watching until Angela is out of sight and gives a happy bubbling sigh,
sinking down into the water to await her friend’s return.
