So.
lymerick cheered me up with a beautiful drawing which sparked off a chain of ideas that eventually lead to this.
Harbinger varieties of Jack, Ceylon and Krieg.
There are a couple of key notes on making harbingers, but I'm not so snotty as to go and say NO U CAN'T MAKE ONE CUZ THEY'Z MINE. Sharing is fun <3
I'm going to watercolour this, as it's on my watercolour block and only just fit on my scanner. I'm goint to teach myself patience with watercolours, something which I do not have at the moment.
Had to darken it. Texture is the paper.

Well, I'll go into more detail when I upload the coloured version but basically -
- All Harbingers hare symmetrical features, eg wings are the same and the front and back don't differ like "normal" gryphons.
- Harbingers have five toes per foot, three facing forwards whilst the two outside toes are opposeable and can switch back and forth.
- Harbingers are almost always small to medium sized birds (here we have a waxwing, shrike and tanager whilst Sid is based on a wren).
- Harbingers can be pretty much any sort of colour pattern at all. They can be coloured like the bird they take after or they can have a totally different scheme altogether.
- Horns. Typically they're in pairs and usually no more that two pairs, perhaps three.
- Sex. They come in male, female and sexless. Never hermaphroditic.
- Harbingers are percieved as omens of various things. Good, bad or even just big events. They'll appear shortly before the event is to take place but never actually know what it is. Usually they leave after but some like to stick around.
- Bells will often attract them. As does the sound of keys and windchimes.

They're so cute =^w^=
I love how Cey's fingers curl upwards on the wing, it looks so neat.
On the note of the Harbingers, do they all have the dragon-like wing underneath the feathers like that?
Also, are their tails bird based or feline based? (usually anyway)
Just wanted to make sure =^_^=
I can't wait to see them colored >w<

Harbingers have those sorts of wings, yes. Some can have more feathers, others less, but usually they have a pleasing combination of the two.
As for tails, they can vary. Some have cat-like tails, others birdy butts, yet more can have ratty tails or even prehensile lizardy ones.
