My cat use to do that when she was younger. Wife would be sitting on the couch reading something while I was in the chair playing a game. She would walk along the back of the couch, jump on her shoulder then flop down on her chest. THen I would yell "Mine, get off!" and they both gave me the evil eye and continued what they were doing.
Adorable wonderment. I can never get enough of it. I also really like seeing other artists offering their own visions of other artists' characters. It's always something interesting to see. Then again...whenever I see that happening, I always feel a hole within my own mind, knowing that the chances of that happening for me are relatively low, given my inferior drawing ability...and text-based descriptions of characters aren't really good enough for people to draw from.
But I don't think that's just it for me. I also lack confidence in many of the things I do, except for my writing. But that's just one good wave amidst the sea of storms. I just wish I had better artistic talent. Then again, even if I did practice to the point where I was finally satisfied with something I had drawn, I doubt anyone would want to take up a chance to draw someone I came up with. There's too much else out there.
The thing is, I don't want to run the risk of alienating friends. There's also the fact that I have to do well in school so I can get into DeVry, and I have to balance all of this with my writing...it's all so much. And I don't know how I could possibly adapt to that method of thinking you described.
