Those spore spired...I cannot recall right now from Neox's description, but those spores, are they used for a slow infection of a larger populace further away? Simply letting the spores go wtih the wind and hope they infect people on the way?

Yes very much. In fact once the bal'kar have fully purified a planet they convert the entire planet into one giant living organism which is capable of traveling the cosmos and spreads our spores as it goes.

A planet-sized ship? What kind of propulsion does a Bal'kar use to move an entire planet? Did not know Bal'kars were able to manipulate grav-fields. *tilts head*

Yet for energy I assume such a ultra-Bal'kar would simply use the energy from the planet's core to achieve this, right? ^.=.^

I don't have much in the way of details to share yet. Right now a lot of the ideas Neox has we are just trying to get down and will take a second pass at them to flush out the science (I am a firm believer that all of this stuff needs to have science behind it and avoid answers like "because magic"). Ideas such as globules are fairly low on our priority list for now when we have a lot of the core stuff to get done.

Sounds sweet. I find it really cool how you dedicate yourself that much to create this whole world with the Bal'kar. ^.=.^ I love when people put so much details into their creations.

Well the way Neox and I see it is there is a lot to work with. I agree completely, things are more interesting when there is more story to go behind the art and there is an entire world, lore, science, and story canon behind it. I am going to be helping maintain official story arcs and making sure that fan-fiction fits into the narrative we want to tell. Actually on that topic I am just finishing up my first short story that will be official canon, just need to do my second and third passes at edits then identify X rated content so I can create PG and X rated versions of the story. This is my half of a trade with Vene, though I think I overdid it a bit (21 pages, 14000 words lol). So yea exciting days to come.

When the bal'kar have purified all life on the planet, the planet becomes a globule. The bal'kar build layer upon layer of living mass upon the planet. The entire planet begins to ack as a single life form which every bal'kar upon the planet acting as the cells of the life form

All life is bal'kar at this point

Let me clarify, we purify all living creatures. Some may be unwilling to accept our gifts but we share them regardless, for once you experience the bliss of being bal'kar you no longer can fathom why you resisted and you too wish to share the gifts with others.

Sentience is required. All other life is just biomass and would get recycled and re-purposed by us into more useful things such as bal'kar structures, or in the case of microscopic organisms they would simply become new bal'kar cells.
