Letting them go is not easy...
Something i sketched up at work. Lyrics are Ulver's "Vigil" which is a beautiful and haunting song. (Though i copied the lyrics from the booklet, but in the song it actually says "for those who used to be")
I listened to the album it's from (Shadows of the Sun) 1.5 times while drawing this, so i guess it took about an hour.
Added the faded colouration digitally just now... I like how it looks. Though the gradients are so subtle that the jpeg compression made them banded... ah well.
I needed to do some actual 'art' ...i think that's why i've been having a block. Need to express.

And so you know, I don't see the banding you're talking about. Then again, I'm working on an old CRT monitor that isn't very bright, despite being at the max setting.
My eyes can only detect the bands when i scroll up and down rapidly.
(also, I don't see any banding, and my screen usually makes it quite obvious)

Very powerful piece.
I plan on getting something in the same theme tattooed someday, a dead animal with flowers growing from it.

Its a bit strange, but as others in my life go, it gets harder for me to find myself. I suppose, those that you love really do hold a piece of you in them, and when they pass its hard, maybe impossible, to get it back.
