It had been a while since hope had returned to the forest, since Nibel, the great tree had been woken again and the woods saved.
Drai was one of the new spirits of the forest, the great owl's child had snagged a few feathers one day, so of course, they had taken it to help get around, the guardians had a lot to do now, and they were all new to it, all of them but Ori, of course. The woods were still a dangerous place and had a lot of recovering to do in other places where the corruption wasn't entirely cleared out.
They enjoyed the ability to fly up with the winds to the top of Mount Horu, where Drai could practice their song in peace with only their wisp there to judge whether the singing was good or bad.
Times were still a bit rough, especially with so much new life springing up, but they were still wonderful, beautiful days full of sun and laughter.
Considering my many long and unfinished story tidbits, Drai has been quite a few things, including a forest-guardian.
Then, a while back, Ori and the blind forest came out, and considering his appearance... How could I not get something Ori inspired for Drai? It's a great game and I love it, not to mention it kind of fell in with something I'd already done.
Amber was all on board for this, of course, since she seems to adore the game at least half as much as I do.
