Yeah dude! I just recently got a fender bass amp and I used it for the first time on this song. No high pitched ringing unlike the bass guitar setting I've been using on my peavy for past songs

Ah nice XD I am really keen to use my actual amps to record myself at some point... so will hopefully pick up a decent mic for it sometime soon. But the Axe-Fx does a decent job for me at the moment...

I agree. That Axe-Fx does to a pretty kick as job though, the guitarist of my band in vegas uses it and it's the best DI sound I've ever heard

Big fan of Engls, always have been. I do have an Engl cab, but that along with my Powerball have been retired. I use a Zilla cab nowadays.

I micced my amp. I don't have a good enough DI interface for that but I'm pretty content with miccing my amps. I like the dynamic that comes out of it

Oh nice. What kinda setup are you running?

A Jackson Soloist 7 running through a Peavey Vypyr, micced with an MXL 991 condenser mic, also for the bass a Traben 5 string running through a Fender Rumble amp recorded with the same mic. Everything tuned at Drop A. Also using an Alto ZMX-862 as a mixer.

Oh nice! How do you like that Soloist? I've never heard of an Alto mixer though, I'll have to check them out. I run a Mackie 1402-VLZ myself.

The soloist is a very good guitar. The only drawback for me is that I use it to record more rhythm based metal instead of shreddy like riffs and the active EMG's it comes with are a bit too hot for me so they ring from time to time, also you need to have the action a little bit more on the higher side in order to get the best out of each fret. If the action's too low some of the higher frets won't even give a note much less hold one. I'm used to playing PRS guitars and the stock pickups they come with are pretty good without being that hot, but the tone that the Jackson Soloist 7 carries fits the sound that I'm going for with this particular project.

I'm having that issue with my WG587. Swapped out the original pickups with SD Blackouts and it sounds phenomenal but pinch harmonics and higher leads are just a bit too "not there". Then again the strings are just about laying on the fret board.

You definitely got a good tone out of it though.
