Ok, the gulls weren't the golden bit, but I like strange aliterations... I dunno what was in the atmosphere that evening, but it made for a blast of a sunset that night on Santa Monica Beach...
The colours made my eyes water, it was so gorgeous.
Edit: sorry about the weird way this loads up- I can't seem to find my usual choice for my images (JPEG), so I used a PNG format instead.

Beautiful, utterly beautiful.
There's a kind of golden light you only seem to get out on the Pacific coast. Maybe it's that huge, almost endless expanse of water stretching so far beyond the horizon.
*looks at the picture again and sighs* There's a kind of... longing in that image. Loneliness, desire. Hope, too.
Very, very beautiful, my _niHan. *purrrs deeply and hugs the opal dragoness very close, nuzzling and nibbling*

Thak you, hon! *huggles* I've seen that golden light on the Plains, too, especially before a big rainstorm, or after a large wild-fire... Particulates in the atmosphere can make for some brilliant sunsets. There had been some big fires, around then- it was wild-fire season in Cali at the time. I have about twenty pix like this one- I'm going through them, now to pick out the best.
I can't really lay claim to the image- Nature provided that! It was certainly pretty that evening. It's not always that vibrant, but wow, that night was a block-buster for colour and textures. I hope to get more images like this, now that I'm finally figuring out what the various settings on the camera are for. *chuckles*
We did! Then I ran out of image slots in my camera... That little glitch has now been solved via a new memory-card KaniS gave me for Yule: a whole 16GB of room. I can take over 1200 images in full RAW format without cringing about losing a potentially good one. RAW format is huge- they can be up to 35MB in size. EACH.
Oh, I'm nowhere near to being a professional! I'm still learning how to use that camera properly... Depending on the model, your camera may hve RAW format on it- check through the settings menu- you'll find it in there, if your camera has it. There's one format I'd love to have, and that's a Macro setting- you can take the coolest close-up pix with that...
Mines got macro settings, two of them. I took some awesome frosty leave photos a while ago, but i don't like to up to many photos as i mainly colour pictures.
I love taking pictures, for every.......err...100 pictures i get one really good one, but that's the advantage of digital
It's a good camera but i couldn't find anything even mentioning jpg let alone raw.....time to google it and find some specs.

Yup... I don't know much about cameras, myself, but I'm currently using my fiancee's Canon Eos Digital Rebel XT. Mid-range, as far as quality, but pretty good for a lot of things. Sounds like you might be getting more good pics than I am! I might be willing to show off maybe one out of two or three hundred, myself. Out of well over a thousand, I've only posted maybe four...
Nothing wrong with posting photography here. if there was, there wouldn't be a photography section in the submissions pages! Doesn't have to furry-related, either.
I started taking a lot of photos 'cuz I kept seeing all this beautiful landscape that I wanted to paint and use in my illustrations. My memory is kinda lousy, so I wanted references, basically. Now some are just too pretty on their own not to post them as themselves.

I've got nothing against people uploading pictures, it's just i spend a lot of time doing colourations for people. So for me it feels like cheating just to up my submission count. I usually send them straight to scraps, not coz they're rubbish but just to keep them separate.
I've started taking photographs to use as backgrounds for some pics. Although that's only really been successfully once.
My camera has amazing features and 12times zoom!! That's mainly why i bought it, cost me £130 ish so it's a cheap ish one.
I remember buying my first 3MP for three times that years ago, the pictures look rubbish now.
Gonna check out your other pictures now
(sorry about lots of talking, alcohol and new year just passing have made me chatty)
