An OC I had for YEARS, but never really had a full design.

Devile is an ENORMOUS cobra, large enough to be able to coil himself around the universe.
His origin is unknown, but he lived before the gods were born.
He's thought to be the first organism.

He's by far the single most powerful being, and closest to omnipotence.

True enough, he is the first demon.

When the gods Lunaris, Solaris and Polaris created the universe, the world was a paradise void of strife or evil.
Man lived peacefully as equals among each other.

But not even the gods could foresee the great tragedy that was about to unfold...

From the depths of nothingness, the Great Serpentine Devil came to the created universe.
Seeing the people swarming like ants in paradise, Devile deemed them to be unworthy of living in his territory.

Seething with rage, Devile attacked the universe, but then the 3 Gods intervened, trying to stop Devile's scheme.
Unfortunately, even the combined powers of the 3 great gods were useless.

As a last resort, the 3 gods sacrificed most of their power in order to seal this great evil away.
However, before the seal was completed, Devile whispered a curse through the tiny gap.

This curse made the mortals self-aware. Evil sparked in their hearts, distrust growing among them...
Not soon after, the world was thrown into utter chaos, and terrible wars ensued.

Now powerless, the gods couldn't do more than see how it all happened...

After the curse did its job, it manifested into a physical form in a spiritual plane. The netherworld was born.
From the body of the curse grew terrible physical forms fueled by man's evil intentions: Demons.

Many resorted to summoning these demons to help destroy the enemy camps, but all it really did was draw the eventual apocalype closer.
Water was poisoned. Entire forests went up in fire. Cities were leveled to the ground.

From his cold prison, Devile silently gazed upon the world, learning from man's actions, carefully following each and every person with his billions of eyes and millions of conscious minds.
He could feel his power resonate with the hearts of man, and realized he could freely copy all abilities they had.

He also realized he could read any event in time in absolutes.
Even his mere presence caused reality to distort and black holes to form...

And all he could care about was what he saw at the end of his prophecy... On top of the throne of a burning world.
The sun blotted out, the only warmth and light given from the burning cities.
All food spoiled, the only solace of killing the hunger is to eat each other. Quencing thirst can only be achieved through drinking blood...
Everyone is immortal. No soul is allowed to escape their fate through death.
Where even being torn to a millions shreds will make one feel the pain of doing so for all eternity...
Devile's vision of a perfect world.

One day, the seal on his prison will break...


Devile is based on the viper that tempted man to eat the forbidden fruit in religious tales.
The face on his back is Insidious' face, AKA "The Consumer of All", referencing Devile's massive body.

Maybe it's all a bit too dark for my tastes ^w^;
