So this is some Thorpe Park Rangers fanart. There were several of them in addition to Mr. Elephant here: a bear, giraffe. monkey, hippo, rabbit, and a frog. I have never been to Thorpe Park; I ran across the rangers while doing a search for elephant mascots.
From the Thorpe Park Memories website: "In his own words he is “an elephant, as fat as fat can be”. He is often quite sleepy and partial to an afternoon snooze". In all the pictures I found of him he looks as if he just woke up. My kind of character :) I know his left hand looks a bit off, but that's how he was drawn/sculpted - palms facing the ground. Hey, how 'bout that paint-flood background!
Not sure who to copyright him to as the Rangers were retired 10 years ago. Anyway, this was a fun character to draw and refresh myself as to how Paintshop Pro and the Bamboo tablet work. It's been a little while.

Thanks for supplying the link. There's a little bit of footage of them in action on Youtube, in old television commercials and folks home videos. I also referenced some old park maps/brochures that somebody posted on flickr. Almost no reference to them at the parks official web-site.
