I've been working on an animation project for a lot of 2015. (had the hubris to believe I would finish it before the end of this year - ha. ) Anyway, I took the opportunity to use some of the assets I created for a little Xmas gathering pic. I'm no 3D modeling expert, but I'm pleased to say the only objects seen here that I didn't build myself are the tennis shoes and the sunglases.
Also, big thanks to
otterknowbetter for giving me his old Amiga 3000. I hop to put it to good use someday.

GOD! I hate Windows, although Windows 10 hasn't given me TOO much trouble since I upgraded. But, it's difficult to find a computer nowadays without it. I absolutely love Linux except for the fact that you can't find too many programs written for Linux, especially for peripherals. When I had Linux on my previous computer, I could do SO much more than I can with Windows, it was scary.
Them days are long past. Color laser printer, scanner, sync my camera, Programs? The average distro comes with 4 to seven gigs of stuff. Games productivity, graphics, audio and video editing.
I build my own computers, I don't buy ready made machines, and I'm not afraid to wipe windows and install my own OS. And yes, my laptop, a Thinkpad T-61 was bought with Linux native.
The FUD is you can't get Linux and there is no software for it. The truth is very different. I've been Windows free since 2003.

I don't know the story but I won't say much here for fear of spoilers. Even if by sheer dumb luck.
These bring back so many memories though.
I will say the old guy with the blue desktop is what I started with. An Amiga 1000 back in 1985... I used earlier machines but that was my first that I owned. And from the desktop I'd say AmigaOS 1.3
The one on the right is not what it seems either and with luck sometime I will have properly set up for myself soon.

Nah, that's not BeOS. Well-spotted with the butterfly, that's MorphOS I think?
But there's still something about running it on Mac hardware that makes me shiver slightly... I know it needs a fast PPC system, but honestly, let's get our ducks in a row here. The Mac is supposed to stink! :p

Towered A1200, got a Zorro-II board, catweasel and some other bits and bobs.... and a broken keyboard socket =p
Though my desktop A1200 is an 030-50 [I think, its been a while since I looked] in the process of fitting an internal DVD drive to go with the CF HDD, USB mouse port and Gotek floppy emulator.
Technically, my amiga is the only solid state desktop computer I own right now ^_^'
