Charley-meow drew rust i drew coal
So um ya he has a name (Rust) and a sister (Coal) now, he is 8 she is 2 I also know how he got his cutiemark but i’ll keep that to myself for now, charley-meow you designed him so you can know yosh can know two because cutiemark crusader writing partners yay…that makes sense yes? no ok
They have the same eye color I just do eyes different from charely so mine have a darker inner eye but rust would too in my style I only drew coal here

Coal and Rust, eh? Those are actually very unique names for Ponies. I definitely see them as drifters, or city ponies. Perhaps in a city that is like "Pittsburgh", or "Detroit". Both run down after having once been very thriving Metropolitan hubs for manufacturing.
I wonder what Horse-Themed name you could come up for Pittsburgh, or Detroit? Hmm....

Perhaps it was once a thriving mining town? You really don't see a lot of factories in Equestria (Outside of Cloudsdale). Perhaps, like Pittsburgh, it had a lot of major rivers running to it, which allowed for Water Wheel energy production along with shipping of goods? They could also be known for mining coal that was once used for all the trains that crossed Equestria before they found alternative sources to power the well-known "Friendship Express"? :)

That's why I'm so happy you and I can work together as we can. We seem to compliment well through our talents in creativity. :)
So Coal and Rust live in the old manufacturing / shipping city of Pintosburgh. As they are young, I'd imagine their parents once worked for one of the local mines, or shipping organizations, prior to massive layoffs, or closures. The family / families don't have the money to relocate so they pinch pennies while taking odd jobs to support their children. They are forced to move into a more rundown part of town to make ends meet and Coal and Rust must stick together to try to find what happiness they can in a seemingly bleak situation.
