This is a scene I have in mind for my "A Rat's Empire" story that won't happen for quite a while, but it depicts the first meeting of two rodents who end up having quite the romance.
The male is named Paul (haven't decided on a surname for him yet). He is the youngest child of Opal, who is the head cook of Villa DeRatry. Opal's family is large and has relied rather heavily on her employer's generosity to get them by over the years. And then comes the day when she asks Charlotte if her youngest son might be given a landscaping job on the estate. Charlotte agrees, although Steffan, the majordomo, insists Paul be given a proper interview before a decision is made.
When Paul arrives at the mansion, a place he has never been to, he just so happens to cross paths with Ferin. She immediately tells him he's hired. Unfortunately, Paul is one of those Clueless Chick Magnet types, so he seems completely disinterested in Ferin, and all the pretty young maids who gather at the windows to watch him do yard work.
But then comes the day when he's out pruning one of the azalea bushes (azaleas are his favorite flower, btw), and he just so happens to look over... right into the most beautiful pair of emerald-green eyes he has ever seen. And it just so happens those eyes belong to a young rat-lady by the name of Azalea. ;)
Fun fact: this pic was inspired by a photo of Audrey Hepburn: https://www.google.com/search?q=audrey+hepburn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjp3qSO1sjJAhWj64MKHZ0UCWEQ_AUIBygB&biw=1366&bih=667#tbm=isch&q=audrey+hepburn+pink+tree&imgrc=PS7xSwm3m1NfgM%3A

Funny you should say that, because I always imagine this song playing in the background for this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEEnFfqp8Wg
Thank you very much! :D I actually do have the first chapter/episode done: http://kelaiah.deviantart.com/galle.....66645/Season-1
Aw, thank you! X) That's a pretty sweet idea, though I originally imagined it happening like this: Paul is kneeling down, pruning some of the branches, when he sees a pair of feminine-looking feet. He slowly stands up, taking in the slim form, before he finally reaches the most beautiful face he's ever seen, and stares into a pair of large, emerald-green eyes.
Except I really like the idea of them reaching for the same flower. Mind if I use it? I don't know if I really will, but I'd like to have your permission all the same. X)
As for what they were thinking/saying... well, they weren't thinking or saying anything. This was supposed to be a silent moment of awed attraction. If this were an animation, this song would start playing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4uD6o9XxLs
