went for a desert tan because I thought it would look pretty good on an 80's cheavy truck and the character that owns it has a military background, and its her favorite color.

Groovy! Say, is the flatbed hauler from a kit? I got ideas for a similar rig. Oh yes... I like desert sand color too. One of my friends who lived ourside of Palmdale had a yellow school bus he was trying to convert into a shelter, but with the darn thing close to the highway, he suffered too many break ins and vandalism. He painted the bus desert tan, and had not as many problems since.
thank you! http://www.toywonders.com/productca.....1-46p12312.htm they come in different color schemes and with logos as well. the bed's deck is plastic but the it's framing and sides are metal, I had to use a cut off wheel to cut out clearance for the exhaust.
Thanks for the info. I plan to save my money to order that model, and much like you did, modify the cab. Oh! I figured you might dig this. Here's a link to die cast model paving machines. They might be a tad expensive, but boy do they look weird, and perhaps if "Crittered up" might make a head turning model.

it worked. there are all kinds of equipment diecast model sites http://www.3000toys.com/?referer=MS.....mp;caterpillar you really have to pay attention to scale though. some are 1:16th scale and some go down to 1:114th scale and the prices are all over the place
