What follows is a very long rant. I got too emotional and went on a tirade, but the short version is that the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed is better than the HD version, and I acknowledge that the PS2 technically is Sony but Sonic didn't "record" for it.
This is titled as a crackup for Sonic Unleashed, but it can be construed as a commentary on all the recent Sonic games. Since the Dreamcast fell Sonic doesn't have a home base, so he runs on all the other systems, but I can't help but feel like he has a definite preference for working with Nintendo. This is evidenced in Sonic '06, the 3-D Sonic game that DIDN'T come out for a nintendo console, and the fact that it was the most horribly broken and poorly designed piece of software he ever featured in, and the only other 2 games that didn't come out for Nintendo Systems, the Sonic Rivals games, well...I never played them myself but lets just say I see them sitting on the bargain racks more often. Meanwhile his nintendo exclusive titles, the Sonic Rush games, and Sonic and the Secret Rings, got much better reviewers, both from the players and the reviewers.
I specifically got the idea to do this comic after watching Zero Punctuation: Sonic Unleashed, here: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/vid.....onic-Unleashed I always liked Yahtzee's reviews, and even when I disagree on his overall verdict for a game (Like his Brawl review) I still agree with everything he said about it. He absolutely crucified this game, but everything he said about it was true, UNTIL he showed the game's box art, choosing the Wii box. No Yahtzee, every single thing you said about this game that was a minus does not apply to the Wii version because they aren't in it. QTE's during enemy fights, levels that launch you into spikes at high speeds, a hub world that makes it take forever to get between action stages, and everything else are NOT IN the Wii version. X-box 360 and Playstation 3 laud their sweet HD graphics over the Wii, but it seems they focused too much on making it LOOK good and not on making an enjoyable game.

Wii - Samba de Amigo, Okami (yes, the remake was amazingly better than the PS2's version). Wario Ware fir the Wii, Tales of Symphonia for the Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, all of the Virtua games, (Like Strong Bad's Awsomely Cool Game for Attractive People) must I go on listing the great games for the Wii?
Brawl had amazing elements that make it the final instalment for the Super Smash Brother series. Just seeing the cutscenes with all of the nintendo characters made this game more enjoyable than most. (Besides, any game with Star Wolf has to be good.)
Sonic, well, the DS games are the best ones out there. Never played Unleashed. Sonic should stick with the handhelds from now on, he is kinda going downhill. (Now Mario is a whole different story. They should have stopped with Galaxy.)

oh yea kind forgot about the sonic handhelds, some of those are ok I guess.
but the list of good games for the wii isnt enough compared to what the other consoles have too offer, I mean the PS2 is soo great its still getting games today even after the PS3s release and the 360 has some of the greatest hits to be released on console. the wii does have some good gems but over all it is still an inferior console, it is also NOT a next gen console so its behind the 360 and the PS3.
and what you said about star wolf being in the game making it good just makes you sound like a fan boy which completely killed what you said making it moot. thats basically saying your such a blind fan that you will love the game that has your beloved character no matter what its faults are, you wont see (or maybe even admit) any of its problems and see it as a perfect little gem no matter what just cause of how much of a fan boy you are.
its not like anything Im saying matters anyways, your gonna buy the next nintendo console and mosts its games regardless of how bad it all is.
also cut scenes is not what makes a game good, if you want to watch something enjoyable watch a movie.

Cut scenes help. The game play for SSBB fits perfectly for the controler. (If you have the numchuck) The music from all of the different games make the soudtrack good. Some of the challenges get pretty tough, but target test's different difficulty levels make it interesting, along with the classic sand back minigame. the boss rush mode is a tough call on very hard, but very fun to smash them up from time too time. The trophies and stickers make collecting fun, cating up on all of nintendo's history. (Some features in the game not realted to my fandon, yes, i'm a big fan of Star Wolf, but that doesn't mean I think it's a good game just because of that.)
Name some good games for PS3 and X-Box 360 that are exclusive for those two systems. Usually, if they are good, they're released for both, or all three. (And don't bother mentioning Halo, that can't be the only good game for X-box. Shesh.)

actually I hate halo, its a really crappy FPS and I have no idea how it got so popular.
there are waaaaaay better shooters then halo.
but honestly games that multi console release, the wii version is almost always the crap version.
this has been proven with soul calibur and force unleashed and a few others whose names dodge me at the moment.
but I'll just leave it at that

I could respond to that, but i will refrain from doing so. But that does make me think, what did make Halo so popular? I will marvel at how certain games raised to fandom, when they're so many others that are far better, but never leave the shelves. (aka Pikmen, Beyond Good and Evil, Shinging Soul, Darkstalkers Chronicles, etc.)
well I say the same about brawl, how could such a game like that ever get popular.
the most popular game I hate more then any other tho will have to be the mortal kombat series, I can actually stand brawl too an extent but not MK.
but hey at least we agree on Beyond Good and Evil, and Dark Stalkers

actually I dont own any console x3
I just like to argue
being really really poor I have to spend my money wisely so I have to research a LOT about popular games to see if they are really worth the money or not.
learning so much about the consoles and their games I find out how much they all really suck, so I learned whats popular... most likely sucks horribly bad. the under rated games are usually the best, so I stick to PC gaming.

not knowing from experience but Im gonna take a crack at it.
the wii isnt meant for fighters and anyone who is serious about fighting games knows that the wii isnt the console to get. that being said the wii motes are NOT the controllers anyone would recommenced for a fighter so I can imagine the game feeling slugish in a way.
people who are serious about fighting games use arcade sticks are special pads, they also prefur the playstation consoles most but arcade is their favorite, but thats going a bit off topic

I see where you are coming from. i think Castlevania Judgement found the way to make it a good fighter, with balanced controls. The camera is the main problem, but in acts more like an action game than a fighter in castle mode. Maybe that's why, they should have made it a complete action game with fighting elements than turn it into a hard-core fighter.
