Okay, that mother is crazy. I'll bet she's putting those images to furbook or so on.
I've heard of a case like this or least a term to fit this scenario; where the child is about to grow up to adult but the mother feels empty or wanting things back to when the child was little, when they had someone to care for under their wing. Empty nest syndrome or something like that.

It might be something restricted to fiction but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true.
By the way, is it Emily's mother who would allow others to change her diaper or can Emily herself, if she makes friends well enough with someone, allow somebody to change her diaper.
Cause it looks like the only person outside of school who is allowed to change her diaper...is the same one who is gonna embarrass her beyond reason...enjoying every moment, at her expense.

I have to admit I love this picture on multiple levels. Aside from being completely adorable, it says a lot about Emily's life, even if the comic didn't explain it.
The lack of embarrassment or humiliation, and instead just grouchy annoyance shows she's been doing this for a while now. The fact she's walking free means she isn't restrained at night, so she's been a baby enough to earn her mother's trust, and indeed is trusted to use her diapers and ask for a change.
