- Huh ?
Beth felt the phone vibrate in her pocket
"Oh ? New post on Surr@20 ? I wonder whats it about..."
Eagerly browsing the phone , she slowed down on her journey back home. It was a hot summer night , midnight was closing by. The streets on the outskirts of town were strangely silent - there was no one nearby, but that didn't bother Beth - she was used getting back home at such late hours.
In fact - being a LoL fan made her completely forget about her surroundings while reading the newest announcement post.
"Ohhhh ! New champion sneak peek !"
Her eyes widened with excitement that soon changed into confusion
"Tahm....Kench ?"
"Ewwwwww - he's so ugly ! I hope the skillset is better than his looks..."
She thought after looking at the Splash art and proceeded to watching the skills clips
"Hey...it isn't that bad ! Eating allies and enemy's champions , nice cc and a team-travel ult - sounds incredibly fun ! I actually can't wait to try him out !"
Ignoring the Lore section of the champion the girl shoved the phone back in her pocket and felt an urge to play a few matches on the summoner's rift instead of going to sleep after a hard day at the uni as she planned.
The dead-silent streets were finally noticed by her
"Strange... there are usually people here at this time of the night... I better hurry up"
After making a few steps she heard loud noise from the pitch black back alley she was just passing. It sounded like something very heavy was coming out of the water. She stopped being more surprised than scared and tried to pierce the darkness with her sight to identify the source of the noise.
-Hello ... ?
The only answer she got was a glowing pair of yellow eyes that looked back at her
The curiosity immediately turned into fear - Beth wanted to start running but even before she made the first step , something shot out of the ally and wrapped around her chest . It was thick , warm and what she found the most nasty - wet - It strangely resembled a giant frog's tongue
-AHHHHH ! TAKE IT OFF ME !
She screamed, but just a second later, with an incredible strength and speed - the girl was pulled into the darkness. A loud chomp could be heard from the alley, followed by deep sinister laughter.
The place that Beth was in now was a nightmare - tight , slimy and what was worst for her - Dark.
After a few seconds , she passed out from terror...
A Splash could be heard from the alley - just like boulder hitting the surface of the lake, and after that - The alley was dead silent again...

Warm rays of the sun licked the pretty girl's face waking her up
" Ugh... what a weird dream..."
While slowly regaining consciousness, Beth realized something was off...
She was laying in ankle-deep water, and after realizing that fact - she got up as fast as she could.
- What is this !? Where am I ?
After looking around for a bit - the surroundings seemed oddly familiar to her
- Wait... this is the bot lane ... im in the.....
- ...Summoner's Rift
A deep voice coming from behind finished the sentence, sending shivers down her spine.
Being scared of what she might see - the girl slowly turned around to look at the owner of the voice.
- AH !
The shock from what she saw, made her trip back into the water.
In front of the girl stood something that could easily be described as a monster. The huge creature looked like a strange mix of an overweight frog and a catfish, standing on two legs while being dressed in an old torn suit.
- You are....You are....!
Beth was pointing a finger at the creature while shaking uncontrollably.
- The River King - Tahm Kench
He replied taking his top hat off and bowing formally before her
-There is no reason to be afraid dear girl...
He continued while reaching his large, three-fingered hand to help Beth get up.
Still trembling , she crawled back a bit and got up by herself.
- You... You kidnapped me in some bizarre way! And you expect me not be afraid ?! Besides you are not real - none of this is. I must be hallucinating.
Tahm's whiskers started moving a bit while a smile appeared on his frog face
- Oh my dear Beth - I assure you - this is all real...
The girl was surprised by that sentence
- How do you know my name ?
The creature's smile got even wider - revealing rows of sharp teeth
- It's simple really - I can gaze into the human hearts to see their deepest desires and grant them. And you my dear... your heart tells me that you are bored with your life - doing the same routine every day , passing unnoticed and blending in - not leaving a mark on the world.... It screams for adventure ! And I brought you to this place - to give you ... a choice...
Beth was stunned - what Tahm said was totally true - many times while playing LoL , she envied the champions and wished that she could live like them - every day an adventure in a world full of wonders.
- A choice ?
She asked curiously
- I can take you back to your home - so you can continue on with your... "exciting" life , and you will never hear about me again. Or...
- You can stay here and become a part of the League - granting every desire you carve for
The girls heart skipped a beat after hearing the propositions
- You mean ... I can become a champion ?
The River king's eyes flashed for a second after hearing that question
- That is exactly...what I mean.
Waves of thoughts flooded the Girls mind - Get back to her boring routine and miss an opportunity of a lifetime or leave everything behind and start a new exiting chapter in her life.
- What's the catch ?
She asked cautiously
- The Catch ? Usually, I ask for a certain "price" from the people I help, but you my dear... I am willing to make an exception and grant your dream free of charge.
- That's awfully... Noble of you.
- Hah - they call me king for a reason !
He bowed down before the girl again.
This was all too good to be true but it didn't matter for Beth - deep inside she knew what she wanted.
Standing in the river ,looking around again at the colourful Bot lane and listening to the sounds of the forest creatures unknown to her , she slowly opened her mouth
- I ... I want to stay here...
After hearing this Tahm started laughing
- HAHA ! I knew you would make the right choice ! Humans always have to follow their hearts right ?
- I guess...
The girl smiled a bit wondering what awaits her - will she have to train to become a champion , learning the ways of the League ? Or will she be granted amazing abilities and spells right from the start ? Where she will live ? What she will eat ? Million questions that she was puzzled with in her head were silenced by the sound of Tahm snapping his fingers.
A parchment appeared in front of the girl and alongside it - a black quill dipped in ink - both floating in mid-air
She couldn't make out what is written on the scroll - it was covered in strange glyphs. At the very bottom of it there was a dotted line.
- Sign it - and your desire will become a reality.
The monster explained, taking a few steps closer to the girl afterwards.
Hesitant - Beth grabbed the quill and took a close look at Tahm's face.
He was more uglier than she first thought , but as her mother taught her:
"Never judge a book by its cover"
"He was nice to me all the time ... and besides - after this he will probably go away and nothing will be left to ruin my dream..."
She started scribing her name
*Elizabeth*
As soon as she finished the glyphs on the parchment started glowing. Immediately after Tahm grabbed it and put it in his pocket
- Excellent ...
He smiled and started laughing in a more sinister way than before
- So....What now ?
The girl asked looking on the monster again - but something didn't feel right about his face.
She soon noticed what was different
- Wait... Where are your whiskers ?
The King replied , still smiling
- My dear - they are yours now...
As soon as he finished saying that - two large, tentacle like whiskers shot out from above Beth's upper lip
- AHHHH ! WHAT IS THIS ?!
She grabbed them feeling everything, like it was a new part of her body
- This is my gift to you - a new life , just as you wanted
Next thing that Beth felt ,was a sharp pain in her lower back. Second later her jeans ripped and a huge green fish tail emerged, landing in the water behind her- making the girl lose balance due to its sheer weight.
- THIS ...THIS ISN'T WHAT WE AGREED ON ! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME ?!
This question was soon to be answered as she witnessed Tahm's huge rough hands began to shrink while his fingers started to split, slowly resembling that of a normal human one's - more precisely a girls delicate hands.
At the same moment - the opposite could be said about Beth
She looked at her hands only to witness her normal five fingers fusing into three large and disguising ones. Her nails slowly started changing into black claws.
What was confusing for a moment - became terribly clear to her
It wasn't a dream - it was a nightmare that she couldn't wake up from
- YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME !
Ignoring the girl for a while and examining his new feminine hands , Tahm grinned and started to pat his gigantic fat belly while looking at the poor girl that was stuck dangling on her new overweight tail.
- NO...PLEASE NO....
She knew what was about to happen - her beautiful slick body that she worked on so hard every week at the gym began to bloat.
As she started growing, along with her, the skin started to change colour into the shades of green.
Her boots made a ripping sound revealing that her feet are sharing her fate - transforming from a normal human's into a nasty clawed elephant-like ones
Instead of getting destroyed like the rest of her attire - her upper clothes started to change with her - turning into the old torn suit that the amphibian wore before.
As she started regaining balance, she looked again at the monster that unfortunately began to look a lot more human than she did
Her neck and breasts were lost under the layers of fat that made her weight about twenty times more than normal.
After her knees disappeared and her belly almost started to touch the ground - she finally got back on her clumsy new feet using the tail as a proper counter-balance.
She wanted to stop the changes by rushing at the River King only to find that she can barely move with her new body.
It was too late - Tahm's face finally began to change
Beth started to feel a nasty sensation in her mouth and just a moment later, her tongue shoot out of her mouth.
It was so long that it actually fell into the river making the girl feel all the taste of it.
- EWWWW!
The tongue started to get wider and wider choking the girl and forcing her to breathe thru her nose
- PWEAAAASEEEE MAKE ITTT SWWWWOOOOPPPPPPPPP
She begged while her nose collapsed and disappeared entirely
Suffocating - Beth thought that she will die but (Un)Fortunately for her - that didn't happen. Instead her whole head widened to accommodate the gigantic tongue in her new frog-like mouth.
She could feel her teeth falling out and immediately being replaced by rows of new, needly-sharp ones.
The girl's long blond hair that she loved so much, rapidly began to fall out making her bold.
Finally - her eyes shifted to the sides of her head while their light blue colour was replaced by a rotten yellow one - filling the entirety of the eye.
It was over - adjusting her new vision she looked at the person that stood in front of her.
It was her former body - a perfect copy of what she saw in the mirror every day- even the clothes matched the ones that she used today.
- Well - that was an ... unusual experience
The body thief stated sounding exactly like Beth while the former-human tried to pick her tongue from the river and shove it back into her gigantic mouth.
- You must be confused , but don't worry - I kept my end of the barging - You are now a champion of the League. You should be happy !
Following a new instinct and much to her disgust - Beth pulled the tongue back in a way like frogs do.
- YOU MUST BE MAD !
She roared with Tahm's deep voice
- I DIDNT WANT TO BE YOU ! GIVE ME MY BODY BACK !
- Silly girl - the contract is permanent - there is no turning back now
His words hit her like a train - she was stuck as this .... frog monster forever ?
- You should be grateful - people that make bargains with me usually end up being ... eaten alive .
Before Beth could say a word ,he snapped his fingers and opened a portal in the river.
- I think it's time. We are alike you know ? This place started to bore me, but thanks to your body I will be able to have fun again - in your lovely world full of naive people.
- Oh , and don't think you will be able to use my abilities - the contract states that I keep them. We wouldn't want a big nasty monster following me into other worlds now would we ?
- NO ! WAIT PLEASE !
The girl yelled and started to run in hope of stopping Tahm but after making a few heavy steps she tripped and fell down into the shallow river again.
Tahm looked at the miserable creature for the last time
- Don't forget the Hat !
He mocked Beth , throwing his top hat on her huge frog-like head
Her new body was too heavy - all she could do now was watch as her stolen body was nearing the portal.
- Farewell "Champion" - Enjoy the rest of your life!
- NOOOOOOO !
Tahm jumped into the river portal - disappearing completely.
All of Beth's former life - her body , friends , family - gone along with the ripples on the water.
Slowly - the girl got back on her new stubby feet.
After examining her new form the situation slowly started to sink in into her mind
"I'm trapped like this...forever..."
Tears started to fill her eyes and as the water around her calmed down - she could look at her reflection for the first time - unfortunately all she could see... was a giant frog-like monster.
