Looking at the comments above, let me try to clarify/explain this as best as I can:
Originally, going back to the description of the idea I submitted, the Eevee character (Everest) was supposed to be facing his human trainer (at least his face facing him), not facing the Purugly gal on the left doing dumbbell curls. The idea was that the Eevee wasn't aware of or noticed the Purugly gal until the last moment where he states "...What?", in which he finally notices her from the trainer's last remarks. The Eevee (mistakingly) thought he and his trainer were in a fairly open/empty enough space in the gym, not near anyone so that he could tell the trainer about the Pokemon-themed "yo momma" jokes he was thinking up of without concern of anyone overhearing (which of course is still a big mistake anyway, given both he and the trainer are at a GYM, for goodness sakes :b ). The trainer noticed the Purugly gal nearby before the Eevee did and tried to tell (or at least hint/signal to him) to zip it on the jokes, but the Eevee was too preoccupied on the joke-sharing that he didn't pick up on it...and thus, the trainer essentially says "Well, I tried to warn you, but never mind, get ready to reap what you've sown." Meanwhile, the Purugly gal, though in the middle of her curls and not looking in the direction of the two guys (yet), overhears the rude jokes and thinks the Eevee's referring to her and her figure specifically from them, which understandably enrages her. THIS was supposed to be joke/humor behind the pic that I was aiming for.
TL;DR version: the Eevee was originally supposed to be facing his human trainer while sharing the jokes, not aware of the Purugly gal near them. With the Eevee facing the Purugly gal instead, I can see why that would make it look like he is aware of her instead and (mean-spiritedly?) thinking up the jokes and using her as the 'inspiration' behind them...and/or outright attacking her with said jokes.
I think Kenno drew the Eevee guy facing the Purugly gal for the purpose of after he says "What?" in his last bit of dialogue...at least, that's my guess on it.
I hope that helps explain a little further what's going on...sorry about the convoluted text wall though. ;^^

:U that's right. when you write comic-esque dialogue like this on a picture, you gotta make a "route" for the eyes to follow as they read the picture. so, of course, by the time everest says "What?" he notices the purugly lady in front of them.
If the picture was composed the other way around, with the guys on the left and the purugly girl on the right, then indeed, everest should have been looking at devin as they talk, not noticing the lady while the conversation starts :o
It's a pacing thing.

That makes sense, both the eye-route for comic-like dialogue and the pacing explanations. And I agree, if the pic was created the other way around, then it would make better sense for Everest to face Devin when you see them and they start speaking. Thanks for clearing up that particular aspect up for me, Kenno. :)
