Shamus Drummond: Originating from Scotland, Shamus Drummond was raised in an orphenage until his 18th year. He had always been a troubled child. Never adopted and always on his own. By the age of 18, he was drafted into the Navy to serve in the armies of Big Brother to suposedly fight the forces of Laputa. When the StateSOC regime fell, he was transfered to Saxony's Royal Inteligence, division 6 for his excelant military record. There he recived all the necesery training and rigorous conditioning, the kind where even trainees might die. He worked as an agent of RI6 (a glorified assassin if you ask me) for 10 years until his death in a secret compound of the terrorist organisation G.H.O.S.T.
Maxwell Bright: An example of competence and incompetence colliding. Though he has gleaming record and always get's the job done, he has a reputation of being, and I quote, "a bumbling, incompetante, useless idiot" among his peers. Some have even suggested that his sucsess has more to do with the people he surounds himself with then his own skill. Others have even speculated that he might be suffering from a functioning form of autism.
Whatever the case might be however, there's no one more loyal and dedicated then Maxamillian Craftwell in the short history of U.N.C.L.E.
Ilia "The Wolf" Kozlov: A surprisingly cooperative KGB agent who has colaborated with Craftwell on many occasions. Not much is know about him. His loyalties are a mystery though he has shown that he's not really a big fan of the current govermnet of the Bolshevik state union in Ruska. Only time will tell what his intentions are. I just hope that when that day comes, no innocents would be lost.
"Mortimer": An agent hailing from Hispania. A self proclaimed "Master of Disguises", this individual has shown that there can be even wors agents then Max Craftwell. Where Max might be inefficient, his bravory and devotion are still present. "Mortimer", if that's his real name, is a coward. Constantly avoiding conflict and letting others do the fighting for him. Though, this might stem from the loss of partner doring his service in Hispania. He never stops talking about him. "El Jefe" as he calls him. They must have been really close for Mortimer to loos his fighting spirit. Why did they let him back into the service, no one knows. Perhapse they're desparatly underfunded back where he comes from.

The one thing I never noticed about the character of Maxwell Smart until the movie was made.
In the movie he was a very efficient analyst stuck at a desk and dreaming of being a field agent.
This made me remember that in the TV series he showed an phenomenal and virtually encyclopedic knowledge about rules, regulations, procedures and all the other technical aspects of being an agent. At one point he even pinpointed where in the world he and agent 99 had been taken while blindfolded just by taking in all the audio, tactile and even olfactory cues they had experienced on their journey. (Too bad the villains had staged all of this in an act of misdirection)
It can be surmised that Max was an incredibly intelligent man, but to use a Role-playing example, he has a high intelligence but his wisdom score was slightly below average. This tends to make him somewhat less than prepared for the realities of real-world field work. But like you pointed out, he was smart enough to choose his friends well.
Love this picture though. Really nice way to bring all these characters together.

Really enjoyed your portrayal and reading about these characters. With every post you made on Dystonia, I've learned lots of interesting things I've never come across, like your previous post that had the Little Prince, and was intrigued to find out that it recently had a movie.
