A young couple out for an evening stroll though a park notice something curious in the woods. Delighted by the pretty diadem the girl tries it on. Shocked by the strange feelings that suddenly sweep over her, she desperately tries to remove the diadem, but finds she is unable to stop the changes. The young man helplessly watches her change, but struggles to comfort her as she begins to cry. Leaning in to kiss her, a sudden pain overwhelms him. In disbelief he can only watch as his body takes an unfamiliar shape. No longer a young man, she looks up abashedly at her new master. The couple timidly set out into the forest returning magic to the world, forever changed, but still together.
This is the eighth and final page of a transformation comic for
inchide. The idea is his, though, I changed a couple details.

Interestingly, given that the unicorn originated as a symbol of masculinity. (can only be approached by maidens, penultimate beast to hunt, horn is a penis metaphor, yadda yadda) it could have been a full "gender trade" scenario. although I suppose you had to follow the commisioners directive. and I will admitt the implied yuri finish is more desirable in many respects.
well the unicorns were supposedly mystical animals, so in my opinion it is not entirely impossible for all males to have been created by some form of thaumogenesis. without more information about the original mythos I can't be sure but there are a number of possible scenarios that could make this possible.
