*cue hype music to Bandits Breakdown logo... then transitions to the studio's usual hosts*
Hiddson: Hello and welcome once again to Bandits Breakdown! Your one stop shop for all things, Las Vegas Bandits! Brett Hiddson along with Terrence Thursday and Issabelle Holt on location in Miami, Florida! Why? Cause the North Florida Renegades continue their tradition of hosting one home game here in the lush and tropical metropolis. The Bandits get the dubious honor of being hosted by the Renegades as they look to exact a little payback for the loss way back in week 4 of the season.
Thursday: You're right Brett, had a chat with Coach Erinia earlier this week and he said the team has a bit of a chip on their shoulder getting ready for this one.
Hiddson: And we'll see from these highlights whether or not they get to enjoy their stay in Miami with a win and clinch the United Conference, or will North Florida pick up the sweep and give the rest of the league a confirmed blueprint to taking down the Desert Desperadoes.
*highlights begin with Bandits QB Sylvester Stapler chatting with Renegades QB Michelle Housley*
Hiddson: Stapler meeting up with the Renegades draft pick, Michelle Housley, Who, with the start today makes this the first battle between the two ring tails. After the North Florida opens with a field goal. Stapler would respond with a better score...
KLVB Radio Announcer: 3rd and 6 after Paige's run to make up the sack yardage and then some... Stapler in shotgun with Paige beside him... 3 wide receiver trips right and the tight end on the left side. Stapler gets the snap and play fakes the draw with Paige... Pumps once... Throws downfield... And Viridi Aqua comes down with it.. stiff arm's the defender off him... one fur to beat... and he's not going to catch him! Touchdown Bandits! His 11th touchdown grab of the season!
Hiddson: Thanks once again from our friends at KLVB Radio, Just another notch to a wonderful rookie season for R.V.A. leading the rookie wide outs with the 11 touchdown catches. 2nd in the league.
Thursday: It all goes full circle in execution here. Great blocking from the bigs up front. Great fake sold by both Paige and Stapler, buying time and space for R.V.A. to end up single covered to make the leaping catch and take it the rest of the way for the 54 yard recpetion.
Hiddson: Second quarter action left both teams scoreless though so on to the third quarter.
KLVB Radio Announcer: Stapler on a good rhythm here leading the offense despite the incomplete pass 3rd and 5... Stapler under center with two receivers on the right and one and the tight end on the left. Takes the snap and drops back to pass.. steps up to avoid the rush... Finds Roy downfield... CAUGHT! Stapler absolutely darted that ball between defenders and Roy's got two furs to beat and... no! Just two yards shy of the goal line... but a 64 yard grab for Viridi-Aqua, his longest of the day.
Hiddson: Another big play from our friends and KLVB, And Stapler would try to find R.V.A. to finish the drive was covered tight and forced to scramble... then lobs his pass to Stephen Harris for the Two yard touchdown grab. 14-3 Bandits.
Thursday: Renegades with solid plays would answer with just a field goal however to keep hanging around. But only a quarter left to settle things in Miami.
Hiddson: Fourth And the Bandits would be in business...
KLVB Radio Announcer: 2nd and 4 on the Renegades 5, Bandits can get a first down if stopped short of the goal line here... Stapler takes the snap, hands off to Paige muscling his way down the middle and... breaks through, Touchdown! What an effort by Paige and the Bandits are up 20 to 6 barring the extra point kick.
Hiddson: It would be good, netting a 21-6 lead. But the Renegades do not want to disappoint the south Florida crowd.
Thursday: This time the big play goes to Cedric Wolff the Hedgehog as he gets a big gain.. 70 yards but shoe string tackled by Kelley Rowe to save the touchdown.
Hiddson: Housley would finally take advantage of her long awaited field position though...
KLVB Radio Announcer. Housley and the Renegade offense get a big break with that 70 yard gain. Calming the crowd to call the next play, we'll find out what she does here... Takes the snap... pump fakes left and finds Ziegler all alone for the touchdown. Michelle Housley baited the defense with the pump and finds the big toucan with enough room for a easy catch before anyone could get 5 yards close... gotta be a miscommunication on the defense.
Hiddson: Right about that and a breakdown in coverage leaves the toucan wide open... and the Renegades are back in the game. After a three and out by the Bandits... they'd have to punt and leave it to the defense.
Thursday: And they buckled down, Brett. Making sure that if the Renegades would tie the game, they would earn... every... yard. Even as North Florida marched down field... Nothing big except for the 3rd down conversions... but it was all earned. And Bandits did a great job keeping them in bounds most of the time wasting the clock and North Florida's timeouts as well.
Hiddson: The final 5 minutes and 49 seconds... and the Bandits made them use all of it and not let the Renegades reach the endzone. 21-13 Your Final and the Bandits win streak improves to 12-2 they clinch the United conference and the Road to the Furry Bowl will go through Las Vegas in the playoffs.
Thursday: Great plays from Sylvester Stapler this game with 16/21 for 238 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Hiddson: R.V.A. your player of the game, 5 catches for 142 yards and a touchdown.
Thursday: And Terry Paige 83 yards on 14 carries, with a touchdown of his own.
Hiddson: And with that we'll take a short break but when we come back, post game pressers with the players and coaches how they experienced Miami life for one week. And after that a look into the match up against the Texas Ramblers...
