It's good that your school has some decent prices. My school in SC had a 3D printer somewhere, but nobody would give me a straight answer about it and I ended up having to pay far too much to have my model printed by Shapeways.

I've been hunting for a local 3D printing service ever since I moved to Las Vegas, to no avail. I know that some UPS Store locations offer it, but surprisingly LV was not selected as one of their test markets, much to my dismay.

I like playing around with 3D. I LIKE the idea of having figurines of my characters, but it seems that the only reliable way to go about that is to buy my own printer (which, naturally, I can't afford any time soon). x_x

The school I go to is a tech school, try looking for local tech colleges and see if you can get ahold of their 3d/animation/computer/design department if they have one and if they'd be willing to print something out for you if you pay commission
