To explain, for those unsure what this is, this is part of a small project called 'Monologue Me'. The idea is basically I set people up with a topic, line, or prompt, aaand they send me single lines in response to it, which I need to shove together into a speech or monologue of some sort.
The prompt this time was 'Rise of the Machines', aaand I wound up getting a few lines from different viewpoints, and with varying tones. As such, I tried to go with a sorta... multiple-character dealio, as opposed to a single monologue, with a rather angry machine playing a few clips from a talk-show leading up to 'the incident'.
The wonderful writers for this monologue were; Boubka, Burning-Fox, Exer, JPG816, Lizardprotector, Spekkal and Uncanny-Illustrator.
The lines they gave me (and thus, the transcript for the speech) were as follows;
"Tick Tock Tick, You Humans, You Make Me Sick."
"The machine was a mistake - much like the Tower of Babel, we built too close to the divine. And the resulting catastrophe was our punishment. Even without the existence of a higher power, the hubris of man will always be struck down. This one had been a long time coming."
"What is the exact point of consciousness, where man becomes machine? Where we are no longer considered human, but a slave to them?"
"How could robots rule over us when they can't even poop?"
"Humans are twisted. Diabolical. They create things to destroy. To throw things into chaos. Machines are not the same."
"That looks like a machine that can squeeze melons!"
"Ever since the first bone or stick to be wielded like a club by a simian, every tool man has ever created has had one thing in common: no will of its own. Until now."
