I really like
khamul's style of artistry. Simple, clean lines and a wonderful use of colour to give his pics a real atmospheric feel. Thanks so much, mate. Stoked with this pic!
A Vanguard waiting by the hatch to his sleeping quarters giving you 'that' look with his come-hither eyes...
Excuse me for a few moments, I need to go and hose myself off with ice-cold water...

Nooooiiiiccce! The pose, the anatomy, and, oh, gawd, yes, that look in his eyes.
Actually, with two sets of eyes, its about twice as seductive, and consequently, we are utterly doomed before the awesome and potent might of his glare.
Seriously, I think even blind people would start getting erections... and having absolutely no idea why.

I really like it when guys with 4 or more arms are actually drawn, I don't know how to explain...Doing different stuff with them. Like, some people would draw this maybe with both sets crossed or both on the door frame. It makes a lot more sense that they'd use them for more expressive body language. Here the arms hanging from the door make him look playful and all "hey there~~", while the crossed set make him look either serious or dominant. Together they make him look like he's walked in to his lover's room and is waiting for them to notice him or is standing in the shower door telling them to follow for some bath time related fun.
You explained it very well, and I quite agree with you. If you watch people interacting for any length of time, you'll see all sorts of interesting body language, ranging from the subtle to the overt. Stands to reason (to me at least) that a creature with more limbs that was just as evolved (or more so) as we are would have lots of modes of non-verbal communication that would add emphasis to their main form of communicating.
The whole idea behind the pose was one of "Well here I am, what are you waiting for?"
So yeah, I fully get where you're coming from, my friend

You've made me an alien-fan in one day with your stories and the art of these vanguards. I'd have preferred the billions spent on avatar to have been spent on making these guys into movie-action goodness, with all their gayness. The "come hither" look has always been a personal favorite when it comes to character expressions, especially when I'm on the receiving end of it.
This pony wants a vanguard - so bad
