A message to all you sonic style fans out there.... -this- is an Echidna. Not a big red thing with shoes and gloves and a giant head and spaghetti arms. This is what an Echidna really looks like.
Fuck I hate the sonic style. xD
Anyway, just a quick doodle this time. Didn't put quite as much work into it as most of the others, but it was still fun. I drew this one for a RL friend of mine (yes, I do have one or two of 'em xD) who's like, obsessed with echidnas. He thinks they're awesome. So I decided I'd give one a whirl just to amuse him. Also it gives me a chance to show a real life friend something I've drawn because, as non-furs, they wouldn't really appreciate my normal 'art' very much... xD
Anyway. Perhaps the strangest creature I've drawn. A fluffy puffball... with spikes. And a duckbill. I think God lost the directions when putting this little fellow together. xD
Used this (very loosely) as a ref.

Oh, Robot Chicken explained that one pretty well. It was just all the leftover pieces when he was finished making everything else. He slapped all the random leftover parts together, and then shrugged as if to say "Good enough..."

I just tend to be annoyed at the sonic style in general x3 Not so much in the cartoon, because... well, it was original when it started, sorta. But whenever anyone else learns to draw that way... and not any other way... or makes a character, calls it a "hedgehog" or "echidna" but only ever draws them in the sonic style, well, I guess it's just a bit of a pet peeve of mine. I have no right or reason to be annoyed about it, but drives me nuts xD
Ugh, I know what you mean. That sorta thing does not deserve attention. It requires no work or creativity of any kind... I've also seen the same thing with Krystal, Renamon, and various other such characters... it annoys me so muchhh. People need to learn to come up with their own designs. xD
i know, seriously. i cant say ive seen to many of krystal though. i can think of only one, and the only difference was a bow, and body tattoos. *rolls eyes*
