Hello hello, friendos.

On the left, J-3377y or "Betty." And on the right, Finis Bairn, which some of you may remember I've sketched before: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14972421/ .
These two characters were included in a batch, But I knew right away, I wanted to pair Betty and Bairn up. You see, Betty was once a living, flesh-and-blood person who had her consciousness implanted into the hulking body of a construction android. And Finis Bairn was cursed to be plagued with illness, rot and immortality, while still retaining that childlike innocence. I loved the idea of our poor little tattered and robed friend sitting alone on a seesaw, wishing for a friend. And along came Betty, and was reminded of that innocence that was taken from her.
Anyway, had a blast on this piece. I really really love it.
Enjoy.

As ever, my expectations have been exceeded. Here I expected them to be featured separately, and then I uncover a surprising gem in my inbox, side by side an interacting with each other like a story.
Starting, you've no idea how this actually feasibly plays out so perfectly within the setting they reside. This centuries old child lich, craving and desperate for any kind of contact but very much aware the health risks he (or she, the unfortunate implications of what the curse does to them) may pose to others. And after either scaring the rest of the playground away inadvertently or sneaking to the slummed remains late at night he plays by his lonesome. And then comes a being who has no worry of falling ill to pathogens.
Don't think I didn't notice the shape of Betty's shadow, especially how it's near face to face with the Finis Bairn, which you can interpret among many ways that the lich immediately sees the person and not the metal frame.
The Finis Bairn and 'Betty' stands out separately, the child maintaining a daresay youthful and innocent aura despite his (her) decayed maladies. Talon'd hand raised nervously but unguarded smile. Ribs splintering out of his bandaged chest.
And Betty...Betty. From the one sketch I provided, you enhanced everything. Her biceps and sides coiled and entangled to resemble the anatomy of muscle and flesh. Her solid featured accentuates a mighty status despite being considered a construction model she's trapped inside. The way she uses the weight of her own foot to oblige the Bairn's wishes, and her shadow putting the impression the wish to be sitting on the see-saw herself.
...I think I might actually die upon seeing the last two characters I ordered in the August bundle.

As always, you spot every little piece of detailed goodness I pack into these pieces.
I still find myself looking at this piece almost daily, hah. I could not be more pleased with how this came out. And as always, it makes me thankful for you always managing to come to me with such interesting material that allows me to create art like this.
