This might sound cruel but if you're going to give away a kid for adoption memories is the last thing you wanna make. Even happy memories will turn painful. I speak from experience luckily I was to little to remember anything but my older brother does.

As an individual who was adopted, I can say that the reasoning is sound. She wants to give her daughter a better life than she will be able to provide. Excellent writing.

Honestly, the mother and brother have only themselves to blame for this. If my wife had a child with my twin brother behind my back and denied having an affair, I couldn't stand to look at her or the child. I don't completely agree on just getting rid of gem, but again it's her fault for cheating on her hard working husband and the brother really has no say in this.

We don't know if they cheated, the way they talk to each other in private suggests they didn't and that Jack is paranoid

I'm incline to agree with this, I too believe Jack is paranoid and looking for an excuse to not have to raise a third child

In that case why isn't the husband leaving the relationship?! Seems there's more going on here than just Jack's story, as neither the mother or the twin brother are admitting what happened to each other, and in fact are outright calling Jack a liar in front of the kids.

ok, now all they need to do is put some kind of clue in the dream, a location or person. then gem will grab her sherlock hat and with her new watson (boyfriend) wull track it and soon be able to link back up with her family!

I agree which does explain why Zee-Zee sees him as a monster when Gem had her nightmares. I got a feeling Jack is going to snap at the party and try to kill Gem or Nicole.

most likely Gem, I can see Nicole having second thoughts (with help from Souffle) and tells Jack to his face "As much as I love you as my husband, I love my kids more, especially Gem!" though that could cause Jack to snap and attack her prompting an all out brawl with Souffle.

I'm with you on this one kaiju, I think Souffle is right in believing Jack is paranoid about Gem. I got a bad feeling the party will end in disaster if Jack shows up and causes drama or a fight with Souffle infront of Nicole and the kids.

Actually, she could stop Jack. Courts almost always side with the mother, and if they felt the children were in danger she could get a restraining order against Jack.

My dad was adopted and spent years trying to find his family. Turns out a somewhat similar suitation had played out, his mother was forced to give up her child and begged and pleaded for him to not give my father up for adoption. We never got to meet her, she killed herself soon after :/

My older half-brother was taken from my mom when he was little (years before I was born). However, he liked the foster family who wanted to adopt him, he called them mom and dad.. He was pissed at her the rest of his life because she fought to get him back. His dad was in a nursing home, after an accident left him pretty much a vegetable.



My mom struggled with mental illness and was committed several times when he was little. In his mind she ruined the chance at a normal life with a normal family. I get where he is coming from. Things were rough living with her, but she did try. It's hard for a mom to do what's best for the child, when that means letting go.

Well someone sure is making a huge Mistake and I'm wondering if this is a Mistake that'll lead to something worse. I have the nagging feeling given that lil nightmare thing ZeeZee woke her out of the first time is implying that dear old dad snapped and did something horrible. I'm wondering if Nicole simply couldn't go through with it and maybe take's this offer here. Really even if she did what is that going to say to her other children. That mommy and daddy's love IS conditional and if they don't like you they'll give you away. Only way around that would be to tell the boys she died. Their at that age where it could work. But somehow I doubt that's what's gonna happen. Still really looking forward to seeing that does happen though. ^^

well souffle does make a good point jack's paranoia won't go away I mean what's going to happen if he starts to think the boys are soufflé's and not his and why not give gam to souffle I mean he could be her dad I mean jack thinks gam is souffle's so why not give her to her real dad.

Souffle's a smart one, he knows it won't just go away. I can understand Nicole, she's trying to be the peacemaker and save as much as she can. Still, letting Gem go will only make things worse.

That is kind of sad how can you give someone as cute as gem away
