Oh wow I had almost completely forgotten about this..
That was a mock-up of what I wanted to do to good ol' Spirit (2000 Mustang), when I had the money. I send that to you in an email years ago asking permission xD I still have the plans for the decal (and your permission letter!) around for if I ever get the money to do it, though that particular car is no longer mine :( Had to sell it last summer to afford a move after a rather.. bad situation with an ex-roommate that left me broke and apartmentless.
That was a weird surprise, seeing my old car randomly appear in my uploads list x3 I really miss it..

Heh, if you read
byzil's post above, Photoshop! Really, though, that does look extremely nice!

Myself, I don't know what to think of the "new" Mustang. Yeah, it looks rather like the old 60's pony car, but it also looks tanked up on steroids, or that it's half brother is a Hummer. (In general, I dislike the bulky, truck-like look that American cars suddenly adopted, shortly after the new century.) At first it looked just plain FAT to me. Later it seemed to depend on the colour. I guess I've gotten used to it now, but I tend to stick to my impression that it's too much like the original. My favourite Mustang is probably the Cobra SVT convertible of 2003 or 2004. Perhaps it's because one of my earlier 1/18 diecast models is that car. I have a number of other 1/18 Mustangs -- at least 7, including the Mach III concept car.
ah, okay, the actual Mustang IS on steroids somehow. the original '68 looked somewhat sleek in comparision. but compare it with the New Beetle look: hard to come by the engine, too small boot, sensible against sidewinds, and loud... like the original beetle. only with the new one you need more than an hour to replace the headlight bulb. :P nothing I'd peg a good design...
I always wondered who would buy those bulky, butt-ugly, overblown SUVs, which need most of the power because of their weight to begin with. if I wanted an oversized, heavy, big block powered vehicle I'd head for an 50's-60's cadillac or something. they have at least a reason for weighing. and more style.
I mean, a caddy escalade (what a name!) looks like being build of reject LEGO bricks. who would WANT to be seen in that?
a fellow model car collector? heh, due to tight space I have only a handful of 1:18, but quite a lot of all smaller scales, including 1:160. but nowadays most of it are Fords. I have even photographed some of them, and posted the pics here. if you're interested, take a look, but they are now buried a couple pages back. :)
Mach III concept in 1:18? never saw one. but i have one in 1:60. ^^
