The Greatest War
Well, I think I've screwed it up. The scraps and WIP versions were relatively aceptable, but I didn't found any way of recording voices on a aceptable quality. At the same time, it was hard for me following the rythym and the melody, as trying to put that all together was something that overwhelmed me. If anyone has advice on that, you're wellcome to contact me any way you like.
It's been several months I've been working with this (as you may see in the previous works), but I wanted to finish this already and move to something new. I sware I tried, but I couldn't. xD

Lyrics:
The greatest wars,
were important
and measured
by amount of shed blood
All which is born
is destined
to a last day
So Earth is to decay
While the machines
take care of us
And we dream for
a better day
Forgetting now
sky and cement
All have the same
colour of grey
Let it dieee
Let it dieee
Let it dieee
Let it dieee
We'll realize
that hope of new
Cannot live with
a clinging to the current
We'll have to stop
fighting to keep
to things a grip
As it's destined to end
And matching the
destiny's will
We'll be loved pets
and won't play punished rebels
The greatest wars,
are important
and measured
by amount of shed blood
While the machines

And we dream for
a better day

Muchas gracias, no esperaba tal respuesta.

Instrumentally, this reminds me of some :Wumpscut:. As far as the vox go, what did you use to record them? Oh, and as for following the rhythm and melody, I suggest you try writing the lyrics first and kind of creating the music with them in mind. It's easier that way to match up the rhythm and lyrics.
Woah, really great critique and advice! Thanks a lot, and great to see you again, btw.
This reminds you of :W:? Woah, I feel flattered, thanks a lot. Regarding the vox... well.. I'm just using a lousy and cheap ordinary PC mic, which gives me a lot of troubles, as distorts horribly.
On for rythym and melody... great idea indeed. I'll try that later. Anyway, most of the coordination issues I had here are because when recording, I could not help on hearing my own voice delayed half a second but being recorded correctly... and that distracted me a lot.

Ah, yeah, the mic does count for a lot, though I'm curious about what other effects you use on it.
Ahh, I see. You can try turning off the playback/feedback if it's possible. I know how distracting that can be when recording. It's not impossible though to work through it despite the delay, but it can pretty tough... so yeah.

Well, the voice went through a low-freq filtering (to filter some distort from the mic), then a quick flanger (like 20hz), which already pitches up the voice. After that, through a 6-voice filter with different pitches and formants.
I tried searching for a playback/feedback option, but everything I tried just made my recordings mute. *lol*
Anyway, I was using FL Studio, which I'm not using anymore. I've moved to Reason 4 and still have to learn how to get voices into it.

Well, it's been quite a while since (actually more like 3 years) I've made any music because a lot of my gear was stolen. I only have a Roland SH 201 and a Yahama electric piano left. When I did make it though, I usually used Cubase.
I only have the gear to really just to vocals, and whenever I do some voice recording, I use NHC's WavePad audio Recorder/Editor program.
