It has been fifteen years since the fall of the Galactic Republic and already the Empire's grip on the galaxy tightened to the planets within its' reach. One of these planets, Lothal, fell to the Empire's desires after making a deal to end its' economic strife. Any that opposed the new regime or even spoke out against the Emperor were seen as traitors and punished harshly. However, one brave soul decided to use their voice to speak out in a more creative way.
In Lothal's Capital City, a young Mandalorain was giving several Imperial Force propaganda posters a much needed splash of color. "Red and grey, black and white. Why does the Empire use such depressing colors?" She said to herself as she defaced the posters. Her eye then caught sight of the Empire emblem on the wall itself. "Hmmm. That could use a little detailing, too." She took off her helmet to reveal a young teenage girl with purple hair, yellow highlights and tan eyes. She pulled out a spray can with orange paint and painted the symbol of the Rebel Alliance over the Empire's symbol. What made this symbol speak out more was her addition of features of a phoenix, symbolizing the rising from the ashes of a new future for the galaxy.
"Now that is what I call real art." She said with confidence to herself. "May not be as beautiful as my work on the Ghost, but it'll have to do. You know...I am alone in this part of town. I guess it would be okay if I got a little air as well." She looked around one last time as she pulled her under armor down pulls out what appeared to be a flap of skin. She began to pull on it until it made a loud "SCHLORP!" Her face came completely off, revealing a young blue haired boy underneath. "Sometimes I wonder why I even took on this guise." the boy said to himself, looking at the mask of the girl he had become. "Am I doing this out of a need to be someone else because my own life was destroyed by the Empire or because they took you away from me. Sabine....I hope I am doing what is right."
"You there, freeze!" a voice said behind the boy. She turned around to see two Stormtroopers with their blasters pointed at her. "Looks like we caught one of the rebels Agent Kallus has been looking for," One trooper said to the other. "Yeah, looks like this one is the Mandalorian, Sabine Wren, but...something is different about her." "Wow, you bucketheads are more perceptive than you look." Sabine said sarcastically as he threw his helmet in the air. As the stormtroopers looked up, he pulled out his blaster and shot them both before they could react. They fell with a thud as Sabine caught her helmet. "Sorry boys." he said as he twirled his blaster and put it back in its' holster. "Papa don't like tattletales." "Phantom Three, come in Phantom Three." a voice said on his commlink. Sabine, where are you?" The boy sighed and put his mask back on, once again becoming the Mandalorian Rebel, Sabine Wren.
"Relax Hera, I'm right here." Sabine said. "Just got caught up taking down a few bucketheads." "You know there's a curfew out on Lothal, why would you leave the Ghost to go off on your own?" Hera lectured. "Geez, Mom, I didn't think I needed permission to go paint the town." Sabine said with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. "Besides, had to kill some time before...." BOOM! A loud explosion could be heard several blocks away, disturbing the quiet of the evening. "Before the supply depot blew up?" Hera said chuckling to herself" "Sabine, you are something else. Sabine then got quiet, as she looked at herself in a reflection in a puddle on the ground. "Yeah," she replied in a false happy tone, before saying to herself, "I just wish I could tell you what that something else is." She put her helmet back on and made her way back to the Ghost.
