The most recent addition to my collection of S&W K frames has a little bit of a film noir look.... A pre WWII K frame with a 2" barrel. It's not marked with any of the normal stamps labeling it as a Model 10 or a Military & Police. It also has a plugged hole in the bottom of the grip so the frame could have been from a run of Victory Models. The family history I was given for this revolver is that it started out with a full size barrel before being re-barreled at the factory in the 1950's and then it was carried by a family member who was a police detective on the west coast.

Well that was my thought Sir, The time line is right for it having a lanyard ring attached. Yeah there was a golden age when new speed loaders were coming out on a regular basis. While that day may have gone past I have found some interesting new designs out there.
I tried some of the Max Fire rubber ones and, well lets just say that they were less then adequate.

I've also tried some aluminum ones made by 5 Star Firearms, and they work pretty good. My only complaint about them is that they twist on the opposite direction of my HKS speed leaders.

I've also bought some of these Speed Beez aluminum speed loaders for the Missus. They seem to work well and are the only thing I've found that can compare to the Safariland Comp speed loaders.

Tail wags..... Very true Sir...... I agree so much that I actually convinced my Chief to let me wear my S&W Model 66 for my academy graduation. I also loved the Cadre's reaction the first time I checked my 1960's aluminum framed S&W Model 37 into the armory. Everyone else standing with their Glocks, Sig's ect.... and there I stand with my little ol' 5 shot snubbie.
Needless to say I got my share of grief from the Cadre wile I was standing in line. Well until they told me to reply.... I used to best reply I could come up with and they never bothered me about it again.... "Sir, wheel guns are real guns Sir"

Well I do love old school wheel guns, but I'm also not opposed to some of the new "high tech" wheel guns that are on the market as well.
