This is a paw icon of my golden jackal 'sona Auric. The center two toe pads are partially joined at the back, which is a characteristic of golden jackal paws (canis_aureus paws aren't quite the same as domestic dog or wolf paws). This might be the first realistic golden jackal (canis_aureus) pawcon on FA, all of the golden jackal paws I have seen in 'furry' art have just used wolf or domestic dog paws. We did use some "artistic licsense" to combine the more recognizable features of the front and back foot, and for the pad color which would be black on a real golden jackal.

Golden Jackals have slightly different paw pads than Wolves and Domestic Dogs, the two middle toe pads are joined at the back. Here are some links to pictures to show the pattern of the pads:

This nice artwork was created by Artali as part of a special $20 headshot sale, though I got a paw-con and eye-con in addition to several headshots. The $20 sale is now closed and the $25 follow-up for the overflow from the sale also filled up but if you watch Artali you'll know when the next sale opens up. This was the only paw-con from the sale. You can see all of the headshots in Artali's Gallery and there is a big picture of all of them (my paw-con is in the upper right). Artali has a lot of these nicely detailed custom paw drawings in the older Amorpheus account. The original offering of them for $10 was here but that closed long ago.
