A bit late to the party (as always).
Well...I actually wanted to paint this one, but my Photoshop corrupted the file D:

I've been playing video games for right around 38 years -- starting with Gremlin's "Depthcharge" coin-op from 1977.
this is a really solid little indie game that deserves all its accolades. it delights in messing with the player's expectations,
it presents some lovely music all along the way, it tells some really funny (or dire) stories, depending on the nature of the particular run.
some of the bullet-hell-dodging minigames are pretty kicky, too.
the option to work out peaceful resolutions -- which is always available -- is even more fun, to me,
particularly since it leads to some REALLY funny and cool situations later on.
most of all, it's about character interaction and story, the way any great computer-based RPG should be.
there is a lot more story hidden under the surface; one has to dig for it, but it's well worth the effort, I say.
