This one is a result of the page of wild dog sketches I did last month. I liked the way the markers and the pencil interacted with the paper and wanted to play with that some more. Here's the result. Interestingly enough, this started out as a rather sweet little couple pic. But as I worked on it the emotions went off in their own direction. The title sorta gives it away. A weary and worn soldier has returned from the war to his relieved and welcoming love. I like the emotion I see in both characters. It makes me think of the recent Canadian soliders that made their final trip on the Highway of Heroes last week. I wish they could have come home to their loved ones also.
