what above pressure sensitive lines? I use OpenCanvas 4.5 and sometimes the thickness comes out just right. do you recommend the eraser for smooth lines? any tips?

They are pressure sensitive. I just don't take as much advantage of that. I don't recommend erasing to smooth out lines unless you absolutely have to. Unless you're working really big, or with really thin lines, you're gonna get wavy ink lines.

Wow your inking looks tedious, heheh. I highly recommend Manga Studio for inking. It does nice stuff like move and reshape lines. It also fixes the lines for you as you draw them, it's incredible.

Yep! Also Sai is an awesome program as well to check out. Many many Japanese artists use it.

I'm going to have to try that. I just use the Photoshop line tool to ink my sketches, which is incredibly tedious.

You should! I use to try inking with Illustrator and Flash because I wanted such perfect lines. Now with Manga Studio I'm not using anything else, ever

X3 saw the vid.. very nice.. I do it the same way, I find it very hard to do thin lines like  onta and  blueblur8lover inks this way tho' and thats destroys MY selfesteam lol

PS: we make the same little Yips when we do a bad line LOL X3

I think thin lines just require a little bit more arm control and a little more resolution.

Oooh how interesting. I really thought you used some kinda vector based program to ink, like Illustrator or Flash. Something to help with that auto smoothing. And you throw down the lines a lot faster too. Guess gives it a more fluid look doing it in single long strokes instead of all slow and shaky like I do it. ^.^ Gonna try some Illustrator inking tonight myself so good timing on me finding this video! Thanks. :)
