Tumblr's sort of a content black hole. You can't just like 'oh hey tika's art. Let's look at her gallery" and just see a big wide list of submissions.
I don't really get what people like about it beyond the convenience of posting, it's super easy to click photo and drag a file onto firefox, but you lose so much of that like interaction and feedback with your viewers.
Still i mean you use it more than fa and the like for a reason, so do as you will.
what is it you prefer about tumblr over places like this i guess? I'm curious.

hmmm I never really put a lot of thought into why I use Tumblr as my primary art place. I really like that you can have multiple images in one post, so it's easier to put comics together in a single post, plus you can make collages of smaller works that you feel you might not want to have as their own separate posts. Also I like not having to make titles for every image I post up haha.
The tags feature, while janky, is nice because you can follow tags that cater to your interests and see new things that gets posted in them when you check them, unlike msot art sites that don't seem to have a "saved favorites" list you can use to mark what you want to see. Combined with Xkit and it's tag filters that let you blacklist things you don't want to see is great as well. Also, on individual blogs, you can search through tags to find anything the person has posted/reblogged under that tag. (For example if you just want to see my art, I use the tag "tikara art", which you can search my blog for or Tumblr in general and see all the stuff I've posted)
And finally, I enjoy the constant stream of people posting things I'm interested in. Since I get bored super easily it's really nice to have new things, whether art, silly textposts, inspirational things, etc, constantly coming in.
OH another thing I like is that people reblog the works they like to show their followers, unlike most art sites where art people favorite are added to a folder which people have to look at to see the art themselves if theiy're not following the person in the first place (and since FA has the ability to private favorites, other users can no longer browse a certain person's fav folders to look for art similar to the artist's interest, which could be their interests as well!)
I'm not saying Tumblr is the perfect website for creative people; it's far from it (plus the users on the site can range from cool dudes to people with beliefs and ideals I'd rather not have anything to do with) but I think I just really like the simplicity of how things can be posted and shared among other users. That's just me, though.

I do like the things you mentioned, though the 'good for comics' is sort of bunk. Max of 10 files in a submission, so i would have to break up More Than I Bargained For into a minimum of 3 posts. I guess that's nicer than having to upload all the pages individually, i can (now anyway) stuff them into a gallery folder people can see when they click on my gallery. It's just nicer to have a folder people can dig through, than having to scroll. What if there's a cool picture in your tumblr that has a tag i wouldn't know to search for? I use the tag #my art on tumblr for anything that i draw, so if people want to filter out everything else they can. They still have to slide through the whole bloghistory to find shit they don't already know they'd be looking for, though.
I dunno. Tumblr's great for its ease of use, but i find it's absolutely terrible for communication and feedback. It feels like infinite storefronts with a 'here's what we're selling today' sign, and the rest of their wares are hidden away. It bums me out i guess.
Interesting to hear your points for it though, i agree with most of it.Thanks for taking the time to type that all out.
