This is Romero! He's a wolf/ bat hybrid. A wat.

He was what many call "The Chosen One". He was destined to save the world from corruption. He did everything he was supposed to do, obtain immortality, retrieve a powerful weapon... You know, everything you do on heroic-world-saving quests.

But things don't always go according to plan.

One last thing Romero had to do was go into space and locate an artifact that would ensure the world's protection, somehow. But just as it was in grasp, the Bad Guy obliterated the artifact and knocked Romero back to Earth.

Being immortal, he was able to handle the impact. What he couldn't handle, was the massive guilt of failing the entire planet. The irreversible corruption began the second the artifact was destroyed.

So, he did what any reasonable person would do, and ripped a hole into the universe and jumped into an alternate one where none of this ever happened nor ever would happen (he didn't know that, at the time, though). Romero instantly regretted this decision, but could not undo it. He is stuck in the alternate universe, unable to live with the guilt and unable to handle seeing people who are eerily similar or identical to ones who aided him or fought against him in his quest to Save the World.

He currently lives, unable to die, with the burden of failing his home universe and not being the hero he was meant to be.
