"You call this a saddle?" Cyncia said, tonguing her bit to the groove in her back teeth so she could speak without lisping, "I've seen camel-folk with more gems in their bridles than me!"
Alecia rolled her eyes and continued checking the new harness. When her sister offered to become a mount, even temporarily, she had taken it as read that she would become some uncomplaining desert beast. Instead, Cyncia had insisted on a dragon-form. A dragon form with a human voicebox and a tongue that would be lashing the younger sister's ears all the way across a hundred miles of desert about everything that was wrong with the world.
"And what's this I hear about red scales? I might be colour blind but I know I asked for blue scales, blue! Don't you know how to haggle with the alchemists, girl? Are you listening?"
Alecia's gritted her teeth. She wondered how easy it would be to "lose" the scroll for removing the saddle in the desert...
I was inspired by a suggestion of Soty's to have some kind of human -> quadruped dragon change when we OCed a while back. So there we go! The story above is just some silliness I thought would be funny to go along with the idea...
