Behold the shiny!
This is a sterling silver japanese style chainmaille anklet that I made recently. The beads are Swarovski crystals and the anklet is made completely from sterling silver with a sterling silver lobster clasp. I set it on a wine bottle for the photo in order to get the dangle effect that is so important for an anklet like this.
As always I am selling my work and accepting commissions Please look through my gallery for more of my work.

It REALLY depends on various things. Like what metal I am working with, what weaves, what size rings. I could make something that size in a simple chain with large rings and it would not take me very long. If I made it from a complex weave from very tiny fine rings it could take hundreds of rings easily and take several hours.
Hmm well I have known basics of chainmaille armor for about 3 years. I didn't start learning other weaves or using it for jewelry untill about a year and a half ago I think. Of course I have been taking it very seriously and I tend to weave most of my life away. It normally takes much longer to get to a skill level near mine but since this is my art and I enjoy it I have advanced much faster then average. I know almost 100 differant weaves and can identify them on sight. I also know scale work and I have some experience with other forms of wire working and am in the proccess of learning other forms of jewerly as well. At some point I wish to also pick up leather working just for fun.
