Okay, so I got my first demo finished, yay! I've already decided to give this one to a good friend of mine so it's not for sale, nor will any of the demo pieces be. I'm pretty sure I'll be giving away all my demos actually.
I do have to say something about the yarn though. I was using the Frontier yarn from Trendsetter and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed. Normally I like multicolor yarns, however I don't think I'll be getting this one again any time soon. The way the yarn changes thickness makes it very hard to control and get an even pattern. I have been told that the uneven pattern gives it more character, however I have a hard time accepting sloppiness as an excuse to call something more charming. Maybe if I had intentionally wanted the scarf to bulge in some areas it would be okay, but that's not how it happened. I hate to complain about this sort of thing, but it's just that I expected a little more for the price. I know I'm not totally happy with it, but as long as my friend likes it I'll be happy, and there are plenty of other yarns I can get next time.
