The snow was dropping softly in the afternoon of Vancouver. Davecko, a coyote-like anthromorphic, was hiking around across the snow covered pine trees and the snow, crunching below his paws as he walked. The soft wind blowing gently across his exposed fur.
"Well, seem I had a nice hike for the day. Better start to head back now." Davecko said as he walked down the path.
It was roughly still a clean path with nothing blocking it as he made it back to the road, to his car. He opened the front door, went inside, and closed it as he pulled out his key and turned the car on. The warm air starting to heat up the cold car, he set it into gear and started to drive back into the city. The trees zoomed by his windows as he wondered what type of dinner to have, considering whether he should pick up some things to make something tonight. As he drove past the bare trees, he saw some people skating around the local rink. He soon made it to the street he was looking for, and drove into the parking lot of the grocery store.
He parked his car and got out. He saw a stand on the sidewalk of the main entrance. It looked quite simple and a little plain, but did have a sign above it saying, ‘Tanuki's Homeland Sake: Made from the east, to be as original as its homeland!’
A blue fox, dressed in a blue overcoat and blue pants, who upon closer inspection appeared to be a Kitsune with three tails tipped with white at the end. The seller of the Sake noticed Davecko and gave a nice smile.
"Hello there! Nice to meet you! You seem like the type of person who has a lot of experience tasting many fine drinks! How about trying a bottle of my friend’s own brew? It'll be sure to be quite the flavor, I promise you!" the Kitsune said softly as his ears flicked and adjusted his glasses slightly.
Davecko was curious of what the kitsune said and decided to try it out.
"Sure, why not? What’s your price?" he asked him.
The kitsune wagged his tails. "Well, since I’m in a kind mood and you’re a first time customer, I’ll say fifteen dollars!” he says as he gives the bottle to Davecko.
Davecko gave the kitsune the exact amount, who responded with a cheerful ,"I hope you have a nice day Sir and Merry Christmas!"
Davecko then left to head inside to the store to continue his normal schedule to get the items he needed. As he entered the store, he was unaware of the kitsune’s uncertain look, inspecting his stock for something.
Davecko walked around the store as he started to get some chopped beef, then looked for frozen peas, carrots, celery stalks, and some potatoes. He had finally decided to cook up some stew for a nice dinner meal. As he was walking to the checkout area, he started to think of the fox.
"Well that was quite the sight to see. It’s not often you meet a kitsune around these parts, but then again, he didn’t seem like a bad person," he thought to himself as he made it to the checkout, scanned his food items, paid for them, and went on his way back to his car.
As Davecko exited the store, he noticed the kitsune and his stand were now gone.
"I guess he must have moved on to another area already." He thought as he walked through the parking lot to his car.
He began his drive back home, and since the traffic wasn’t as bad as before, he soon made it there. He turned off his car, got out, walked to his front door, pulling out his keys and unlocking the door, and headed inside. He took off his coat, throwing it on a chair by the front door and then carried his bags to the kitchen.
After an hour of chopping vegetables, cooking the meat, and spicing to taste, the food was finished. He turned off the stove and served a bowl for himself. He enjoyed his meal! He left some in the pot for when his boyfriend came back from what he was doing. He lazily finished up his meal and then decided to have a small taste of what the kitsune was selling. He got a small glass and poured himself a little bit.
"The color does look very clear," he said to himself before he took a small taste of it. "Hmm, it’s not too bad. Really quite good," he commented.
As he finished, he wasn’t aware that his tail started to slowly change, the fur starting to form brownish rings while the rest of his tail started to form into gray-like rings in between. His tail became rounder, gaining an oval-like shape.
Because it was tasty, Davecko decided to have another drink. He poured himself another and drank it quickly. As he did so, his body changed more. The fur on his hands began changing color, gaining a brownish hue all the way to upper arm, as did his feet and legs to his knees. His shoulders and the remainder of his legs turned a gray, matching the rings in his tail. His stomach began to grow a little larger, as it showed a little peeking from under his shirt. Davecko felt his muzzle begin to tingle softly, which he began rubbing, finding that it was shrinking back a little. Though he couldn’t see, a darker mask began to form around his eyes and down the sides of his face. Surprised by the sudden changes, he started to blush lightly across his face, which grew a tad brighter as he noticed the buldge in his underwear grow. He could feel his balls grow a little larger, pushing out against the fabric, but remaining contained within. His changes finished, leaving him a new anthro tanuki. He rubbed his front gently, feeling the new set in his underwear.
Just then, there was a knock on his door. Worried at first, Davecko went to open it up. On his front steps he saw it was the kitsune from before!
"Hello there... I’m Corbyn... It seems the drink has taken its effect... I should explain." He said with a nervous chuckle.
Davecko stood there watching him, slightly amused, waiting for an explanation.
"So...well... uh, you see, the sake that was sold to you was the wrong version! It was made by a group of tanukis I know. They give me their sake to sell and they get a set amount of the profits. They also sell a different kind of sake that is for some other kinds of people. But luckily, the effects are temporary. I’m sorry for what happened, but as a small token of my mistake, I’ll give you a pack of our finest sake! Free of charge, of course!" he says as he pulls out a case of it.
“It’s alright, mistakes happen. No hard feelings, Corbyn." Davecko said in a soft tone, understanding there was an innocent mix-up with the order.
Corbyn gave a small sigh of relief as his tails wagged behind. “Well I think I must be going now. I got more orders to fill out." Corbyn bowed, then left with a small wave.
Davecko gave a soft wave back as the kitsune took his leave. He went back inside and relaxed, playing some games for awhile until his boyfriend came over. They chatted while he ate, but soon he had to ask about Davecko’s form.
“Let's just say it a small gift," Davecko said with a small chuckle.
