A Christmas with Aurora

As the day went on, James prepared the house for the next evening. For Christmas’s Day he invited one of his best friends that he loved in secret to celebrate with him. He placed the tree next to the chimney at a secured distance. He placed some logs in the fireplace for tomorrow night. He decorated the tree and then looked at the time. It had just passed one o’clock in the afternoon. He felt he still had time and decided to go out to buy the wine for tomorrow evening’s romantic dinner. He had to make sure he got her favorite. When he returned home, it was already late in the afternoon. Thankfully, he didn’t have anything more to do. He finished the small details, like placing Aurora’s gift under the tree, before going to bed.

On Christmas morning, James woke up and set about preparing the small turkey dinner for tonight. He took a last look at that present he bought for her. The gift that was in bright red wrapping paper and a yellow ribbon around it was still where he placed it under the tree. Everything’s perfect, he said to himself out loud. Hours later, James had already started the fire and it was strong and sure to burn for hours. The dinner was ready and James just placed it on the table when the doorbell rang. James went and opened the door for his guest that he invited for the evening. Aurora entered the door and placed a wrapped gift on the couch before she removed her coat. She then hugged James; who was still amazed at how sexy Aurora was in her dress. He snapped out of his daydream and invited Aurora to take her place at the dinner table.

The meal went smoothly as James hoped. Aurora was slightly tipsy from the alcohol, but she was still in control of her actions. After they’ve had their fill of food and wine, he proposed that they should exchange gifts. Aurora accepted and as both settled on the floor close to the Christmas tree, James got Aurora’s gift from under the tree. The fire in the fireplace still burning brightly as James held his wrapped gift for Aurora behind his back. While Aurora held hers in front of her, both James and Aurora looked at each other. As they gazed in each other’s eyes, they felt a spark. In James’ head, it happened months earlier. Aurora remarked that James was pretty cute and cared about her enough to be boyfriend material.

After they gave their presents to the other, Aurora asked James to put the gift on the side. She then approached James to embrace him. James not even hoping to dream of that hug, nearly fell on his back. As Aurora let go of James, they both looked into the eyes. Before the roaring fire they locked their lips into a passionate kiss.
