A friend suggested working on my lighting, so I did.
I laid in the shadows/tones(?) first with Payne's grey then went in over the top with greens, blues, yellows and god knows what.
Didn't quite manage it. Egh.
This probably looks a tiny bit better than it does IRL because for some bizarre reason the little watercolour pad this was done in has a strongish yellowy tint to it. Edward (scanner) didn't seem to register that.
I really did try to darken places like the feet and colour them correctly but I just wanted to cry almost by the end of this.
It is also quite small.

I think that you need to work on your confidence more than the medium you use. With confidence you get stronger linework and you feel better about what you draw so that instead of studies and sketches you get complete images you could tuck into your main portfolio.
Hope you don't mind me saying that, I just think that you have incredible potential for all sorts of illustratory things.
Illustra...tory? Is that even a word?
