The title and inspiration for this picture came from an excerpt from some notes I mindlessly wrote late at night:
"..I spent my whole life walking across concrete bridges over freeways to get to malls I can shoplift my next outfit from, my backpack on my back soon to be heavy and swollen with stolen goods, my hood over my head with my handmade radioactive patch proudly shown, cars driving to my left and the sun setting to my right, lighting the polluted, smog filled skies on fire with brilliant rays of orange and red. Everything I steal is worth it, because I am the greatest thief on earth, and this life is perfect.
Or at least that's what I tell myself. In reality, I act out because I'm scared, because I'm confused, because I just want someone to care for me in a world where nobody cares."
If you're wondering what the context of this picture and that excerpt is, its essentially what my life was a year or so ago. But things have changed; I'm (mostly) no longer a thief, and I've learned to live without love or care.
I really like this theme. It highlights a certain pivotal part of my life. Maybe I'll draw more moments from those days, since this wasn't the only one.
