A blue fox with a shooting star fur pattern, perches on a rocky bluff to watch the northern lights undulating in the sky. She spots you watching her, and invites you to join her for the spectacular lightshow.
A piece for the FC art show, done with inks and acrylic paints on 6"x9" illustration board.
I've had an urge to draw some non-anthros lately, so you may see a couple more from me for FC.

I saw it for the first time in my life about 2 years ago. It was still very distant toward the north horizon, but it was spectacular to see. The best way to describe its movement is like watching curtains of rain fall from a distant thundercloud, but instead of darkening the sky like rain does it was lightening the sky. At first I thought it was very bright outdoor lights that were lighting up the sky to the north of my house, but driving down the road past open farm fields it revealed its true beauty.
I think that traditional art has the added bonus of having a physical original... but I think that both methods of working can produce excellent results.. In the end, they are both just tools .. and its the artist that makes the difference...
I used to think that digital art could never be as impressive as traditional - but I've seen some art and artists in the last few years that changed my mind...
Either way, I know where my strengths lie, and thats in traditional work, so thats where I plan to stay for the most part =)

Nice image.
Hmmm.. i saw the star there and i thought "Edelweiss", you know? the unofficial National flower of Switzerland. How about that for her name?
I hope you have the chance to someday watch an aurora, the things you watch in documentaries do not do any justice as seeing them, so to speak, in the flesh :)
When i did my military service in Finland, being in the middle of nowhere in winter deep in the forests, -30 oC, on guard duty at 2 a.m. looking up into the cloudless sky and watching the amazing display of light that an aurora is, its shifting colors, moving like a light curtain in the wind and knowing it is hundred of Km long.. well i can tell you about it, but you'd have to experience it to really feel awed at such wonder of nature.

Oof! This piece is amazing, I wish I had a chance to see it earlier. XD
The sky is amazing, especially because many people choose to just draw your eye away from their sky, or leave it out entirely. Absolutely beautiful job, everything is very flowing. :3
[Blue is also my favorite color by far. And the fox is my favorite animal.. So this just stands out to me. XD]
