"So, this is the old place where you stocked your honey?"
The bee guard just nodded. Even though the bees and hornets had reconciliated and made peace, you couldn't forget easily years and years of demonization of the other, and some bees or hornets still felt a bit awkward about it.
For the guard, it wasn't helped by the fact that the hornet he had been tasked with accompanying for a visit was Hank, the leader of the hornet group and pretty big even for his species' standards.
"Hey, what's that?"
This attracted the guard's attention, and he looked towards what Hank noticed.
"A honey dollop? It must have been forgotten when the honey was moved."
"And you never noticed it?"
"Almost no one comes here anymore, the tree in this part was getting infested by fungi."
A grumble came from nowhere, startling the guard.
"Sorry, I'm feeling peckish," smiled Hank. "Mind if I...?"
"You know," commented the guard, "it's been here for years. If you want to be sick, be my guest."
"I've got a solid stomach," replied Hank before gulping the dollop.
The guard turned his back to the hornet to check a bit the quality of the wood.
Well, it seems the tree recovered in this part. Maybe we could put something back here and...
"Er... Hey, buddy?" interrupted Hank.
The guard turned back to the hornet... and froze, dumbfounded.
Hank had inexplicably grown gigantic, towering over the bee, already tall enough to easily squash him under his foot.
He also was much wider than before, and he was already quite wide at the start.
And some parts of his body, mainly his chest and his arms, had swollen even more than everything else, strangely making him even more intimidating and powerful-looking.
But the most astonishing was that he was still growing.
"Well, that's some honey you've got down here," joked Hank, his expression going from one as flabbergasted as the guard to one that showed that he was starting to enjoy what was happening to him.
