This is a waaay oldie, back when I lived in VA, even. I found it while unpacking. :)
Anywho, I'm a huge fan of Elena Kucharik's work. She's the artist of the original care bear paintings of the 80s, and she's influenced my own work quite a bit. This is one of many tribute/mutilations I've done in her style. :)
Far Heart Camel is obviously a custom character. Ok, technically she's a dromedary, not a camel, but considering there's a horse cousin with a button nose, I figure I can be a little inaccurate. :) I also use her sporadically as a non carebear type named "Eden".
I pictured her as a sort of nomad character who roams around and never really stays in one place, but keeps trinkets and mementos from the friends she meets inside the two jars on her walking stick. Her motto (because each of them appears to have one) is that there's always a way to let someone know you care, even if you're far away. I did not draw a tummy symbol on her, but if I were to choose one right now I'd prolly pick a map with a dash route to a "heart marks the spot" :)
Anywho, she's not cool or anything like all the Raver Heart FoxSkunkNinjaToads and Random Non-Adjective Heart Fox or whatever, but here you go anyway. :) The world needs more camels and dromedaries.
I bet her version of the "Care Bear Stare" is to spit...

The whole Care Bears clique is in cahoots with all the different factions to one degree or another. Sometimes there's a little in-fighting between, say, the bears and some of the Cousins, or some rivalry to see who has the most effective stare. But more or less this technicolor tribe is waaaay tight.
I remember those 'ol Halmark Carebear cards. Brightheart Raccoon was always my favourite <3
You've made a camel! I must say, I hadn't expected such an interesting and exotic mammal. She is a pretty lass, and her statly message is valuble for those of us young and old.
